Titanic tourist sub goes missing sparking search

Been reluctant to say anything like this, even if it’s more likely than not. There are at least 5 families waiting for word as to what’s happening. 😬 Can’t we be a little patient? Also, my two friends had checked in via FaceTime with another friend early this morning. I appreciate all that...

    Closed SF2 Sidemount Rebreather

In trim, in an environment where you can maintain trim, it’s very good. If you have a lot of heads up/down positions over say 45d get acquainted with switching to OC at times or being uncomfortable. Flood tolerance is really hard to beat without a CisLunar can. It’s very light and I can carry...

    Unit doff/don question

    Possibly. It’s complicated.

    Unit doff/don question

He had me do that in my solo diver class, but with some added complexity… Drysuit, 104s, night, 50f water, no mask, tied up in cave line, not allowed to use cutting tools… I wrestled with that for like 10min, finally got sorted, THUMBS. Upon surfacing he asked me, “So, what did you learn?”...

WTB: ScubaPro 71.4 cu' "Slim 72"

Derrick, excellent find! I have a set of the shorties and a set of the slimlines now. Alas, neither work well as SM tanks. Way too negative… Maybe with 10/70 in them for saltwater at some point. I’ll be rigging the Slims as doubles or onboard bailout on my RB similar to the GUE style LP50s.

    SF-2 Support in US; parts?

With all the... um... adjustments I’ve lost track. 1. Is there anyone to contact Stateside? 2. Anyone got a new counterlung they can part with? Thanks!

Do you have that 3D Model or the CNC file etc? I’d like to do the same and would hate to reinvent the wheel...

    Wing suggestion for LP50 doubles

When I had my Double 50s: Halcyon Evolve 40# (Great, just maybe a little long. Super stable. Watch out for pinch flats when putting your tanks down.) Oxycheq 42# Horseshoe (Literally perfect width and length. Little narrow so as to run with big singles, no pinch flats. Many swear by donut...

    Dual Bladders/Redundant Lift.

That was my wing with the failure at the surface... Fundies class Fall 2007. He was filming for Bob Sherwood. THAT was quite a learning opportunity! Lemme tell you, swimming up cave filled double 104s (without Helium) SUCKS. Zero stars; do not recommend. Also, a wing filled to the max is way...

Replacing front entry Zipper- Plastic or Brass?

Unless you're doing significant deco in 50f water (or colder), you should be really pissed off, but otherwise fine. Think giving a cat a bath... That said, you better have a good wing that can float you in a zero buoyancy drysuit, or a huge amount of ditchable weight (not recommended). To wit...

Trespassing golf ball diver fatality - Sainte-Julie, Quebec

Did one day of this. Um, Nope... I had diarrhea for 3 days. Headache for 2. Cost me more in broken gear than I made. I wouldn't do it again without FFM, latex hood, and probably a Vulcanized Rubber suit. I could tell I was low on gas by the stiffness of my SPG hose. Also did SM and could tell...

I have one. Not in service. Not much use, but shelved a few years ago. What is it worth?

    21% Nitrox

In some manual of a long forgotten DC model, they mentioned it was to make sure in Nitrox mode you were setting what you were diving and not relying on a default. Might have been Oceanic, maybe Suunto... It's been close to 10yrs ago.

    Rebreather - Cost of Ownership

It's about like asking how much a boat costs. Sure, you can figure on gas and slip fees, until you need to address something... I have an "inexpensive" second hand RB that has had it's fair share of issues (now resolved?). All said, it is cheaper than new, but a hassle to get sorted. By going...
