Hello all, I have a few spaces left on a trip I am planning for the Dive New York SB group to Morehead City, NC to dive with Olympus Dive Center. The dates are May 10, 2009 through May 16, 2009, of which we are planning to dive 5 days (weather permitting), Monday through Friday that week...

I also heard somewhere that there is a finite supply of Helium, so eventually we are going to run out... I'm not sure where I heard that, but I believe it related to the expense of it as well..

I am learning more every second tonight. So eliminating the Nitrogen is mostly about eliminating the nitrogen narcosis, not the deco sickness element, right?

It would make sense to eliminate nitrogen completely from the mix, seeing as it is the major cause of deco complications. Of course, having your own chamber is a plus too... Someday... someday... lol... :D

I hear that, I started a desk job about 5 years ago & it went down hill from there... Diving though has brought me back a little & given me a reason to get back into fighting shape...

John, What is the difference between a ceiling & Stop depths? And just to clarify, Heliox eliminates Nitrogen from the mix, correct? As oppesed to Trimix which is Nitrogen, O2 & HE, right? Thanks!

Hey Rich, we should plan on trying to get into a combo ER/Advanced Nitrox/DECO course for 2010... That's my plan, I don't think I'll be ready for it next year... I have rescue to do & want to get a LOT more dives in next year as well... I'm hoping to hit the 200 dive mark sometime next year...

Very true, and I have been in contact with Dan Crowell, who is associated with my LDS (He was (or maybe still is) a captain on the dive boat Seeker, the dive charter that found the U-869 off Brielle with Richie Kohler & John Chatterton). I just figured why not do that advanced stuff someplace...

I wish... :depressed: I am going to put that on the schedule for 2010, I need to save up for that, gain some more experience & buy a bunch more gear... :D I would rather take it at his Florida location, but if I have to travel to DR, I guess I'll make do... lol... :D
