Just out of curiosity, how many people have made a recovery from a pool, or been a part of a search, where a person was later found to have been in the pool the whole time.
I know there was a case in NH where the person was in the pool for days and recently there was a similar case in CT.
The masks that come with the EFR pack are pretty nice and seem to have more of an air cushion in the outside of the mask than other cheaper masks, which helps to create a better seal. I don't think it makes that much of a difference.

Good advice. One thing to add.
When you clear the mask, it usually helps to close your eyes before pushing the purge button as any remaining water may shoot right into your eyes when you push that button.
Especially effective when performing the war hammer maneuver.
I use Bonine on occasion and it works for me. Ginger and Coca Cola also help. Haven't tried anything else
