    mares jax mouthpiece

Hi mcc, I've been using the jax on my Proton 42 metal and believe me it's absolutely magic. It locks in your mouth and no matter how your head moves, you don't feel any pressure on your reg. Don't know about the seacure, but the Jax is well worth it! Make sure though you dont put one on your...

Mares Dragon AT problem with valves.

Just a thought here Phil, since after each dive I soak the BCD in the bathtub and the water here in Greece has a fair amount of minerals, could it be that water enters through the quick release and after it dries out leaves mineral deposits in the hoses? I know that in the dishwashers and the...

Mares Dragon AT problem with valves.

As always, thank you Phil for your lightning fast reply! I was not aware that I had to check the AT every year, I sure am a believer now! True, my last dive had been a boat dive, but we always load our gear on the boat already assembled, which means that the AT was connected to the tank's air...

Mares Dragon AT problem with valves.

Hi again board, long time since my last log in, fell a little behind in my dives (thanks to work!), time to get wet again. Soooooo, I dust off my Dragon (been sleeping for almost a year...), and decide what better than to take my 16 year old daughter for her first intro dive with my favorite...

Adjusting my Mares Proton Metal (42) - Freeflowing!

Very interesting post, which brings up a question. Even though I am veeeery happy with my V42 Proton Metal, I would love if I could have the 2nd stage adjusted for a little easier inhaling. (I guess I'm just a delicate flower when it comes to breathing hehe!). I have had it just recently...

    Mouth Piece

I use the Jax on my Metal Proton V42 and I wouldn't change it for nothing. It locks the reg in your mouth and there's no need to bite on it or anything. You don't even know it's there! Occasionally when i use my octo that has the regular Mares mouthpiece I feel like it's going to fall out of my...

    Dragon AT tank band

I got it off the net from a German site, unfortunately the site is in German only so I had to use a buddy of mine as a translator. Worth every euro though!:lotsalove: Mares AIRLOCK, Tauchartikel.de, Powered by Rainbow Divers You can download the manual to get an idea from the Mares site Mares...

    Dragon AT tank band

Hi Gullwing, being a proud owner of a dragon At as well, I noticed the same thing with the tank strap. My solution? Spent a little more money and bought a Mares Airlock system which I placed on my Dragon. Best gadget I ever saw! Hook up the BC inflator hose for a second, push a button and voila...

    Dragon AT sizing

Mmtndiver, I use a Dragon AT, I'm 6 ft 200lbs and the L fits me great, with a 5mm or a 6.5 semidry. I first bought an XL over the net and it was way too big. Same goes for the wetsuits, L seems to work for me. Hope this helps 1011ster:D

    Mares Proton Mouthpiece

Hey Bif, have been using the Mares Jax on my Proton 42 reg, which is easy as pie to set up, and believe me, you don't even feel it in your mouth. Once it's in it locks, and without any mouth pressure whatsoever, it will not budge, not even a bit. You can turn your head around to your hearts...

Rear trim weights, what do they do?

Dear friends, even though this is not necessarily a Mares only question,I like posting here, so your thoughts are needed. Did my first dive with my new Dragon AT the other day, and it did feel a bit akward. I have been diving el cheapo rentals with no integrated weights, and normally 8 kilos on...

    Mares isotherm help

I had the same concern when I put it on for the first time. The neck seal was too high and chocking me. After you roll it in though it's as comfy as it can be And while we're at it, I did my first dive with my new isotherm yesterday, and it really works! The most minute amount of...

Difference between proton 42 and the new abyss 42

I've been diving the proton 42 since august, and I am absolutely happy with it! I've fitted the JAX mouthpiece on it and believe me, I don't even feel it in my mouth! It is very light, and I love that the whole face is a purge button. As far as the 1st stage goes, besides being TINY (all kinds...

A great big thanks for Zack and Phil.

Dear Mares fans/fanatics/users, here's the short version of a sad story with a happy ending. Ordered myself a brand spanking new Dragon AT, from an internet dealer is some part of this world because my regular shop (Scubastore .com), was out for quite some time. This gent showed in his site to...

    Another warranty question!

Dear Phil and Zack, I know we have beaten the warranty thing to death, but please bear with me for one final time! Having recently purchased an all Mares set (and I mean ALL MARES!), and having done so mostly through the internet but only through authorized Mares dealers (checked the Mares...
