We have these buoys fifty or sixty yards offshore here off Pompano Beach, marking a "vessel exclusion zone". It would be rare to see a boat inside of them. Dive/snorkel flags look pretty small from a boat. I know to look for them and can still get pretty close before spotting them. If you do...
Pygmy Sea Bass, Pearly Razorfish juvenile (that's a guess, but they tell me that they show in *many* different outfits), and Gray Triggerfish juvenile.

It has come to my attention that some are unaware of the existence of this sign. Can't recall, now, precisely which pillar oh which it is attached. . .
Don't overlook Miami and Biscayne Bay as options for diving in the Homestead area. I've only done each once, but both were very shallow and had some of the healthiest coral I've seen.

My somewhat limited experience with checking the webcam suggests that mornings are more often the calmest - and I'm more likely to still be sober enough to dive on a vacation. :D
Yer gonna have a blast, especially if the seas remain as calm as they look at this minute (not uncommon there in the summertime). Keep an eye on this webcam: Windjammer Web Cam - Lauderdale-By-The-Sea Beach Cam
Gold Coast Scuba on Commercial Blvd. is yer place. Might check out any of my...
