Sorry for not getting this to you earlier. I've not been on SB for quite some time. Here's something that I wrote up a long time ago. Hopefully you'll find it useful.

It's highly recommended that you not try to seal on top of a neoprene hood. Latex is the...
A little late to the thread here, but, you'd do well to contact someone at OTS to discuss advantages/disadvantages of the different full face mask available.

Sounds like your push to talk button. It uses a magnetic reed switch. Have you contacted the service department at OTS? Talk to Craig or Dennis there, they'll take care of you.
There are some solutions to the issues you've experienced. The inhalation noise seems to be the red non-return valve is what is making this noise, I would suspect. A little silicone grease on this may reduce if not eliminate it. If you have the opportunity, you might try a quick dive without...
This thread was just resurrected from over five years ago. The Guardian has only been out for about four. The Guardian has been taking over the industry ever since and for good reason. But, I'm biased...
One of the primary issues with a mask like the ScubaPro and Mantis is the location of the purge in the chin. When you're in a face down attitude, with the second stage diaphragm being lower than the purge, the hydrostatic pressure will cause the reg to free flow. You could have the regulator...
MSltr, please don't be offended by this, but are you recommending that you use a QD fitting on the side of the mask as a solution to an OOA situation? Have you tried disconnecting and reconnecting an alternate QD fitting underwater on the blind side of your mask? Then with gloves and even a...
A free flow should never be a catastrophic event. You're mask will, as you experienced, exhaust the excess gas. Use the gas as it goes by and terminate the dive safely. One thing often not taken into consideration is that it may not be your second stage that's frozen, first stages can freeze...
Unfortunately you can't. The plate is captive between the cables and a flange. Does it need to be repaired? Contact OTS service department at 1-800-550-1984 ext: 131 if you need.
Mild soap and water is the best, scrub it lightly if necessary with a light nylon brush. What kind of discoloration? Mildew, Betadine? Is it a gray mask turning brown?
The Guardian doesn't need a "special valve" in the chin because it vents through the main diaphragm. The venting of the OR is through the chin was an artifact of the original design coming from a gas mask. The pressure differential requires a restriction valve to prevent free flow when inverted.
What do you have now? The CE Certification was done with Apex first stages. I use them as well and like them. It's recommended that you use a high performance, balanced first stage with the IP set at 135 psi.

If you're looking for a new FFM, do your research with experienced FFM divers. I'm biased, so I'll leave out my opinion, other...
