In San Andres the only place to snorkel from the shore is West View. There is a fee to get in and they have a slide and diving board. It is used more as a swimming hole than a snorkeling place but you can easily swim north along the coast and get better underwater sights. Other than a few other...
You might want to take a look into San Andres Island, a couple really nice beaches, several condos throughout the island with many restaurants and shopping. Day trip to San Luis or rent a golf cart for the day and take a trip around the 8 mile long island. If your interested let me know and Ill...
I would have to agree with Rick...Turtle Rock is also my favorite dive site in Old Providence...
As far as the boat goes I'll post my response to Nola in case others would like the information.
The cost for the boat and flights vary through out the season but on average the boat (150k COP) is...
Diving is some of the best in the Caribbean in my opinion. Not to much into the night life myself but it is there a night there and I have heard it is pretty good.
Cost of living is relative, compared to America it is dirt cheap, food seems to be expensive or similar to American prices when...

October in Providence is HOT usually not much wind, off season so you can easily have the dive boat or beaches to yourself. November is rainy season if the rainy season starts early, late October could be a bad time. In raining season the low pressure systems form in the western Caribbean...
Old Providence has all of the above except the large animals, reef sharks are a commonly sighted, Weather is Tropical in June and July you can expect rain almost daily but usually doesn't last. Hurricanes are a possibility but OPI is just out south of the hurricane belt.
This is defiantly OPI...
Some good, suggestions above. I did not see anything mentioned about San Andres Island, another good options in the Western Caribbean. Decameron has the market on the all inclusive which usually includes flights. If you want more info on spicific places to stay in San Andres let me know and I...
I will say, although I have never dived with above mentioned outfit, I can tell you by far the best diving in the keys is in the Dry Tortugas. If you are going for the diving take the Tortugas trip.
If not I would break it up something like this,
Day 1-2 Key West, dive the vandenburg and hit a...
Although not on the east coast, you should consider the the Ultimate Getaway live-a-board out of Fort Myers going to the Dry Tortuga's, by far the best diving in Florida.
Low tourism and great diving are usually off the beaten path places like Old Providence, Los Rocas or the Corn Islands in the Caribbean region. I have only been to Old Providence and can tell you anything you want about it. The other two I have not traveled to yet but heard they are similar.
I would check into some of the diving in Colombia. I am not sure on the expense getting to some of these places is going to be for you but the cost of diving in general is some of the cheapest in South/Central America. By far the est diving is San Andres and Old Providence, I would also look...

I have tried to get to a few of these shallow reefs once..... My GPS must not have been working because I never found them. The vis was only about 5 feet. You really have to go out to the deeper reefs to get any vis. In general I think the reefs are fished a lot so not great spear fishing. From...
NO sorry I have only dived with this company, unfortunately. The vis was good though, I do remember at 120 feet I could easily see the boat above us, that was 10 years ago also.
There is more on this guy than this post if you do a little digging, here is one post about him.
