Thanks for the replies. I’m going to see whether I can see a dive physician in Sydney before I head back to the UK. Finding a dive doc here in Fiji in 2 days isn’t gonna happen. When I get back to the UK I’ll get the the dive hospital in London who are excellent. I guess I’m just going to...
Unfortunately in the past I’ve had to dive, as a guid, with a really nasty lung infection for weeks without a break and I know the difference. There’s an infection for sure. This doesn’t feel like the primary issue. It feels like actual lung damage and it’s scary.
So a couple of weeks ago I was idiot and held my breath on my safety stop trying get get my dome cover of my camera on. I have a bad habit when focusing on a task of forgetting to breathe - on land, but never underwater. As soon as I ascended I was immediately struggling to breathe and told the...
I’m not sure how maintainable an above and below solution would really be. Space on a Lob dive deck generally somewhat confined anyway and there’d be a **** ton of wear and tear. Given turnaround times between trips I’m not sure having stuff up top would work well in practise. I could be wrong.
This may not be the appropriate forum for this but a minuscule thought regarding diving and safety.
This morning I was booked in to do my first dive in Sydney, Australia. Rental kit, new location, no big deal.
Whilst getting ready to go to the dive shop I received some quite troubling news...
I know the crew on this boat. By all accounts they did a superb job. Still ******* terrifying.
This incident could have had some additional vectors that could have impacted the ultimately successful outcome of all souls saved.
1. Time of day
2. Promity to land
3. Less experienced/dligent...
I just checked on this topic _after_ my girlfriend went diving with extensions. 3 hours and a scissors later she’s free.
Holy moly that stuff turns into arguably the strongest substance known to humankind. Untangling is _not_ an option.
Will know for next time 🤣
Thanks
Hi again guys.
I’ve a couple of days by myself at the end of the trip in Oahu.
Would like to get some shark diving in - ideally no cages.
Any thoughts?
Cheers guys 👊🏼
My SMB line didn’t have a spare 200+m but I guess in some scenarios this could work.
Ultimately tho, in this situation you’re making a decision whether to ditch the SMB or fly it back. Unless it floods when you’re really shallow you probably don’t have the luxury of time to be ******* around...
Omg I came here to look at scooter accidents and came away vastly more horrified by many people’s grasp of incredibly basic physics ordinarily considered a given in scuba diving.
Fwiw, I had a minor scooter incident on my first trip using a scooter a couple of years back. Naturally I hadn’t...
Thanks dude. My GF is AOW but if she fancies a day off I might look at twins and a scooter. Any kind of fauna in particular or you thinking more wrecks? Thx, John
That sounds amazing. Think all my night dives have been at reefs, no major depths. It
Thats awsesome man. I’ll get in touch with Jeff and see what he’s got to say. I’ll tell him you sent me.
Blackwater diving sounds amazing. Be good as I’ve gone off normal reef night dives. Would love to be...
Thanks Gachnar, looking like we’ll be spending most of our time in Kona so. A bit of Tiger action would be a nice into into shark diving ❤️
The Manta dive sounds unmissable
Cheers dude
