I'm a SeaSigns instructor if you have any questions

Hi Normoxic, that's a broad question. Two diving buddies should always discuss their communications before a dive. The things we need to say to each other underwater don't change because of disability. We are still going to talk about fish, about our kit and about how good we feel...

    Is SCUBA diving a sport?

hmmm .... driving a car, having sex, sleeping in my bed... I do each of these on a regular basis and chances are I'm going to die doing one of them one day. But sports???? :no

    DEMA - What the hell?!

Coming from Europe in the winter I have to say I have appreciated the sunshine in Orlando :D

    DEMA - What the hell?!

They were there? We went by the stand several times and no-one was ever there. That was backed up by the people on the stands around them who claimed never to have seen anyone either. We assumed they were no-shows.

    Wannabe Divemaster

No first hand experience I'm afraid. The closest I can get is Turkey where the water was fabulous but rather lacking in fishes. I really must put the Med higher on my list to explore.

    Wannabe Divemaster

Hi cabosito I have met some very fine divers who learned to dive in Switzerland. They (and many Germans too) have mentioned that Croatia is easy to get to, relatively cheap and great diving as well. I would second the advise to find a local dive centre and develop a relationship. But I would...

    Post DEMA party (November 3rd)

Me and the man will be there. Thanks for the maps. I'd only be giving them to the taxi driver but it is good to see that venue is closer to our hotel than DEMA is. (I think we booked at the 'cheap' end of the street!)

Help for a big girl! I'm getting discouraged.

Tell me about it! But on the other hand when I tried on the Waterproof suit for my size according to their measurements http://www.waterproof.se/lynx_aries.php (don't know if you can get them in US) it was high-pitched voice too short and I ended up buying a Cressi that was sized for someone...

    PADI ProCheck

The parameters are known so although the resulting number of possible combinations is high, that is what computers are best at doing. Now I don't know why someone would want to do that but the world is full of weird people, some of whom might value obtaining verified names and numbers. If...

Antigua: Dive boat leaves behind two scuba divers

The Sun is the best selling newspaper in the UK - nearly 3 million a day. Here's the ABC circulation figures...

    PADI ProCheck

Firstly that would degrade the member benefit of the pro check in the member's site. Secondly it would potentially violate the privacy of all PADI members. If you put such a link in the public domain it would be easy to run a script to obtain all the member names and numbers, something that...

    Longest Ever Scuba Dive?

 Well that will teach me to look at the forum as well as the post title before I respond! I was of course referring to the common and garden recreational diver with a single 12l/80cuft tank. Sorry guys, I'll go back to my corner now....

    Longest Ever Scuba Dive?

Kinda difficult to answer that one isn't it? For most folk, longest is what they can do comfortably without a pee or coffee stop and still enjoy it and still have air in the tank. Once you start to swap tanks I rekon you have moved to 'stunt' diving by your description.

    24 Hours underwater

Khoo Swee Chiow did it for 9 days in December 2005. There's not too many words but some pictures of his challenge on his website http://www.daretodream.com.sg/expeditions.htm He had a bell so was able to have a 5 min break every hour without coming to the surface. Can you organise...

Where do you put your excess gear when shore diving?

Well, despite having a very popular car brand I may suffer from a 'feature' of protective keys which can only be bought at a brand garage. Therefore £250. Next time I buy one I might ask about that only opening the door option. Or just buy a heap junk that no-one will want to break into :rofl3:
