    any advice

Adequate... If you are only doing night dives occasionally. You should get a small back up light, as well. The "back up" feature of the light you are interested in will be of little use if the light floods. Diving at night is like driving at night: much more enjoyable with a bright...

    ATX200 first stage

The second stage end of the hose is the same, in most cases the hose is the same. All that is different is the diameter of the fitting at the end that fits the first stage.

    Filters....response from T&T

Any filter that decreases the amount of light hitting the film will only make catching a great shot more difficult because you will have to compensate for the filter by opening up your lens(less depth of field), using a slower shutter speed(more chance of blur) or boosting your sensitivity(more...

dive day for Seattle area people?

It was a lot of fun... sorry you could not make it, we will have to plan another day, since it was your idea. the visibility was about 15-20 ft, and a variety of sealife was seen, including an octopus dining on crab, a small salmon, I think someone saw a wolf eel, and we swam thru a good...

Is your LDS listed with the Better Business Bureau?

It does cost $$ to join the BBB. As a business owner I have been approached twice by the BBB with an "invitation" to join. They as much as said "Would you like to pay us to join, so we can say good things about you". Their other line was "We have been getting inquiries about your business...

    Halcyon Pioneer 27lb Wings

I have a special tool... my thumb and forefinger! Grab the outer cover, while holding the fabric around the valve, pull on the dump string, and unscrew the cover. The "valve" and spring are attached to the cover via the dump pull string, it all comes off as one piece. What doesn't...

Tracking your buddy in low vis

A bright light really helps divers keep in contact with each other. In the Pacific Northwest, it is almost a necessity( OK, in my book, it is a necessity!). Also, if you dive side by side, with both divers slowly sweeping their lights back and forth, you will not loose contact with each...

    between dive regulator covers

I don't think so... but... I would make sure that my regs, lights, and gauges were protected from something falling on them (tanks, weight belts, clumsy divers) between dives. IMO, a bag doesn't really offer the protection you might think it does.

    MK25T/S600T v MK25/S600

Unless you are James Bond, I don't know why anyone would want a titanium regulator. Oh, it's lighter... great, I'll put more weight on my belt!!:D There are much better things to spend your SCUBA bucks on.

    The new Halcyon SPG.....

I saw one. It is noticably smaller than the std. Scubapro/Diverite brass and glass gauge. It has a nice polished chrome finish with no knurling around the outside edge.

    Tank bands and a manifold

The bands run between 3 and 4 lbs, depending on size. The manifold is around 4 lbs.

    The Cost of Diving

At this point, I don't really want to know, either. It could be incriminating!:D

    Hose mesh/wrap

If you like the look, go for it. It doesn't strengthen the hose, and can cause cleaning problems if you get silt or sand inside the mesh(which does happen) IMO: just stick with regular hoses and save your money for something that will actually enhance your diving.

    Any Expertise with Amoxtec?

I have the E model, it is quick and accurate, and easy to use. I liked the fact that replacement sensors are available domestically.

    Fish finders

I have a Ratheon 470 that I use alot for finding structure when fishing or exploring, it works pretty good, especially with bottom contour. If you are stationary over structure, it will not show shape or form; you must be moving to "see" the bottom detail, but all fish finders are like...

dive day for Seattle area people?

I swear I've seen people with small bbq's at Les Davis, I don't think it is a problem (except if you are the a$$hole that dumped a whole bbq full of charcoal down the entrance steps to the water, that was a pleasant experience!) The vis is changeable, I plan on hitting the water for a first dive...

Finally dove with DIR buddies. What a mess!

...and if someone has an expensive suit and matching shoes, belt, and briefcase, he must be a lawyer. Lawmans rule: you are what you wear! Equipment is a part of DIR, the proper usage of said equipment, is another part. I find your stereotyping quite humorous; totally off base and...
