    Deep Air Debate

Wow Freddy, We did the same thing! Grab stick, hit child upside the head with said stick, child crawls to TV and changes the channel. :eyebrow: If you had 3 kids, then you could assign a channel to each one and whack whichever child corresponded to the channel you wanted to see at the time...

    Deep Air Debate

Wow, you're right! I'm so old, I remember when you actually had to pick up hookers on the streets, now you can just click away on craigslist and choose the perf....... Uhhh, what were we talking about again??

    Multiple decompression dives/day- planning

Two things that you can do to help with your planning are: 1: Reduce your nitrogen loading on the first dive. This can be done with different mixes / depth / or bottom time, or a combination of all 3. 2: Extend your surface interval between dives as much as possible. Even the US NAVY...

How many military/ex-military people on the board?

I just re-enlisted in the Military at age 41. Did my original US NAVY stint in Nuke submarines from late 80's to early 90's. 8 years total including IRR. Been out for 17 years. Now I joined an ARMY Military Police Unit. 320MP CO out of St Petersburg FL. I will be shipping out to WTC on...

This is the MODULAR unit, not the one piece. Therefore, it can be used as a Transpac with singles and doubles also. Price reduced to $425, and I cover the shipping in the US (lower 48). It's a great deal guys and gals. Cheers,

a personal view on stage bottles

This is true. Then again for those kind of dives on doubles, you wouldn't need a stage either. As far as the 40's, they fit nicely in the floor lockers, so they stay out of the way. Any Hunting dive deeper than 120' or with accumulated Deco will be done in doubles, but we don't do that too...

a personal view on stage bottles

Hi Brian, We're on a private 23' boat and we usually go hunting by alternating 2 teams of 3 divers. So yeah, space is at a premium. I prefer the mobility of a single steel cylinder when I am hunting as we're not doing any deco past the 1 minute 1/2 depth stop and the 3 minute 15' stop. Our...

a personal view on stage bottles

Ditto what Jeff said. We go spearfishing off Palm Beach all the time (60' to 90' average depth). What I like to do is carry a single BM steel 130, and stage a al40 as extra gas. I will breathe the 40 until is is almost dry, then shoot it to the surface with a Marker buoy. The tank is buoyant...

*** GREAT DEAL *** Nomad Sidemount for sale + Extras

Hi gang, I have a very nice Dive Rite Nomad sidemount harness and wing system for sale. It has seen the water 4 times, and was bought new in June 2008. It has been hanging in my dive shop ever since. It has not been abused at all, and is in "like new" condition. Top of harness has not been...

    Cavern Cert

<< Jumping on my Soapbox for this one >> I see this alot while teaching. Students want to know why they should take Advanced Open Water. Isn't Scuba diving to 60' just the same as diving to 130'? Why are the agencies trying to rip us off for more money? It's the boat owners, they're in cahoots...

Exploration- what's the furthest you've been?

Why are you doing Valve drills with your ankles? It's much easier if you use your hands. Really, I wouldn't lie to ya! :rofl3:

Exploration- what's the furthest you've been?

There's some really neat nooks and crannies in the Catacombs also. It's also a great dive to work on buoyancy. It's a "snug" dive, nothing ridiculous or sidemount, but you'll get to see some cool stuff if you go in the rooms and alcoves that everyone blows right past on their quest to get back...
