    After dive treats.

Shameless plug here for a new enterprise by my daughter in law. Her family is having trouble making ends meet with the collapse of tourism like all Cozumelenos so she has begun a delivery service of coffee and pastries. You can find her on FB and order there or through WhatsApp. Chocolato |...

If you help me, I'll help you.

Hi all, mi familia mexicana is having difficulty recovering from the collapse of tourism on the island. I would be forever grateful if any of my ScubaBoard family could help them by stopping in to their store and making a small purchase. By way of thanks I would gladly show anyone who cares to...

    Sending money to Cozumel

Hi all, a family who has welcomed my son into their home with open arms is struggling financially in these desperate times. I want to help and ask here for the best way to get cash to them? Thank you in advance.

    Volunteering in Coz.

Hi all, I find that I have a difficult time filling the hours that I'm not diving in Cozumel. Is there an organization that I could volunteer my time with? I'd like to make sure that I'm not doing something for free that a local could be making a living at. I've spent my entire life in...

    Diving without reservations

Hi all, I'm heading to Cozumel for my son's wedding at the beginning of February and don't know how much diving I'll have time for. Will I have trouble finding a shop to dive with on the day I want to dive? I might even like to try different operators on each day that I dive to check out some...

    Getting to Bonaire

Hi all, been looking forward to taking my kids to Bonaire in the spring and I'm getting close to being ready to book. When I searched airfare a few weeks ago I was looking at around $900 each from Vancouver now I'm getting pricing of just under $1600. Anyone have insight into what...

    Bali questions.

Hi all, I'm heading to Indonesia at the end of May for three weeks. Our ultimate destination is the Black Manta live aboard out of Labuan Bajo but I'll have the better part of a week waiting for my dive buddy on Bali then two or three days together on Bali before flying to Flores. The...

    Roatan shark dive.

I'm heading to CCV in a few weeks and would like to try the shark dive offered by Waihuka. Anyone have any advise? How much is it, is it worth it, what day does it go. Also wondering if CCV has internet access or should I leave the laptop at home? Thanks in advance, Skook.

    Dogfish sightings.

Some genius on the evening news last night opined that since municipal bureaucrats don't have the authority to ban sharkfin soup and the feds don't have the cojones, it may be an option to ban the importation of them. He also felt that there may be an economic opportunity for B.C. since our...

    Did you lose it?

If you lost something yesterday, March 2, tell me what and where, 'cause I found it.

    Light won't turn off.

My Led light with a magnetic switch will no longer turn off. It turns on just fine and cycles through the power settings but the only way to turn it off is to unscrew the battery compartment, which poses a problem underwater. Any suggestions? It's this light Diving Cree MC-E (K-WC) 3-Mode...

Saturday June 23 dive at Whytecliff.

I'll be at Whytecliff tommorrow morning at 9 am for a dive. My buddy just cancelled so if no one cares to join me I guess I'll go solo con Dios. I'll be in the blue Venture. Andrew.

    Diving Cozumel from Playa.

Hi all, I'll be in Playa del Carmen for a week in July and I'm wondering about the logistics of diving Cozumel but staying in Playa. Is it possible to take the ferry over to the island in the morning, do two dives and catch the boat back in the afternoon? Are there operators that will...

    Maui depths

From reading various posts here I get the impression that the majority of the shore dives on Maui are fairly shallow. I'll be visiting for the first time in September and won't be able to afford to boat dive every day. Are there shore dives where a depth junkie can get his fix? Andrew.

    Angel City lobster

Some video of a spiny lobster we found at Angel city on Bonaire. We also learned that day that a full exposure suit may not be as comfortable as shorts but when the wind is coming from the West its a much better idea. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pwv7MkwqwiQ

    Hidden Beach Bonaire.

Before my first trip to Bonaire I couldn't get enough of trip reports and video clips of other peoples visits. Same thing before my second trip. Now, in the part of my life I will refer to as before my third trip to Bonaire, I can post some of my own video for others. Here's a short clip of one...

    Aeris Atmos 2 problem.

At the end of our dive on Sunday my son's Atmos 2 began endlessly scrolling through its functions while beeping and flashing it's warning light. Removing and replacing the battery had no effect. Anyone know of anything that can be done other than send it to the factory? Thanks in advance, Andrew.

    Hood left at Porteau.

Hi all, today at Porteau my son left his hood on one of the picnic tables that was being used by other divers. I think there was GPD branding on some of their rental gear. It'd be great if we got it back. P.S. Very exciting dive when we were buzzed by a sealion. I think it's the first I've seen...

    Bonaire Board meeting.

Hi all, here in B.C. we have fairly regular, open invitation dives that are organized on the Western Canada forum. Sometimes there's a great turn out, like this, and sometimes just one or two show up. Either way it's allways fun and a great way to make new friends. Myself and three...
