Great video! We are going on this trip with Big Fish Expeditions in April and are really looking forward to it! My husband & I have been on a dozen of his trips and highly recommend diving with Andy :)
I finally had a chance to use my macro lens underwater for the first time in Bonaire and it was a lot of fun. In fact, it was more fun looking for the little stuff than I thought it would be as generally I like the big stuff :) Here are a few of my shots taken with a Canon 5D MIII using a Macro...
Condolences to the family and friends of this woman. Tigers, I believe, are much more curious than most other sharks and will approach closely to investigate. I was at Tiger Beach last week and saw this for myself. We were told to always make eye contact as they approached and continue to make...
I agree, Big Fish Expeditions is a great company. We were on his whale shark trip the week after you so didn't have to contend with the bad weather. We have been on 4 trips with BFE so far & have more booked.
We booked with Big Fish Expeditions. Whale Shark diving at Isla Mujeres, Cancun, Mexico. Whaleshark snorkeling. There are a lot of boats but rather than a 3 hour trip that is the common tour length, they are one of the 1st boats out (pick up at 7:30 am) and stay until 2 pm so it is a full day...
We had a great trip to Isla Mujeres to snorkel with whale sharks. The photos were taken with a Canon 5D Mark iii in Aquatica Housing. You can see our photos at OUT THE DOOR TO EXPLORE
The following video from one of Rob's friends gives a bit more info: he was using a friend's rebreather, had a new camera system & had never gone so deep before. None of these may have contributed but any one of them could have been a factor. Tyler MacLeod, Alexandra Stewart Give Update On...
I am looking to buy a new BCD. For the past 10 years I have used a Mare Vector 1000 AT that does not use a hose for inflating & deflating but rather a button above the waist. Any suggestions for other models with the same feature?
Our initial dive trips were picked based on location & expense as we travelled & dove with 3 kids. We did various Caribbean locations & a few trips to Hawaii. We are now focusing on locations we are guaranteed to see sharks as they have become our passion. We can also travel farther as we...
Reef: Manual Mode @ 1/125, 5.6/f, 100 ISO
Sandy Bottom ~30': Manual Mode @ 1/320, 11/f, 200 ISO (This was our Hammerhead setting. We increased the depth of field because we wanted their hammer & mouth to be in focus).
We do vary our settings now that we are getting more comfortable but it...
I am very happy with the quality of photos my RX100 M2 take. I have a Recsea housing & YS-D1 strobes. I know very little about photography so had my son suggest a manual setting which has worked for 90% of my dives. I just went to Bimini and had to make adjustments for shooting hammerheads in...
I'll be interested in this thread. We have just started looking into Maldives and have never been on a liveaboard but are also looking into Blue Force One as well as Carpe Vita Explorer & Carpe Novo Explorer (explorerventures.com).
We are at Aliwal Shoal right now and saw sharks on every dive this week (mostly Raggies but also saw Black Tips on 2 dives & a school of Hammerheads on 1 dive). We have been told that February is a good month to come so that will be our plan next time.
We are leaving for South Africa on Thursday and am unsure about the need for current converters. I realize I will most likely need a plug adapter but will I also need a current converter to charge my camera batteries (lithion), iphone & macbook? It is my understanding that most electronics use...
I would recommend Alvaro with Always Diving Scuba Diving in Cancun | Always Diving. We dove with him in December and is exactly what you are looking for to do a cenote dive &/or any Cancun diving you may decide to do. He is very passionate about diving, his crew is great & they are very safety...
