We haven't had any trouble with our two Cobras. However we purchased a Vytec 2 years ago just prior to going on a vacation. The unit was purchased form an authorized dealer who told us it had been used about 4 times in a pool as a demo unit and offered a discount. We dove several times and then...
We saw a whale shark and pilot whales in October. We've been to FI twice and thought the value was very good. Even brought friends and family for the second trip. Agree that the DMs are guides and should not be relied upon for anything else. The dive shop was meager. Also the tools they used for...
If we were to design the ideal dive shop what would it be?
What would be essential, what would be desired, what would be cool but unnecessary?
Is it different for everyone or is there a consensus of opinion?
Leisure Pro has taken a lot of undeserved bashing in Scubaboard threads. I'm pleased that they have a presence on the board now and have dealt with this issue. IMO LP was not obliged to offer the upgrade free of charge but that they took care of this says a lot to me. I've been purchasing...
Wow, you folks are really being tough on one another. One extreme view would have us believe that there is no such thing as a dive related death, seemingly using the logic that only life causes death, regardless of what you do. I think there are some who prepare too much and others that could be...
RD, I agree that the Echomax 230I, re-engineered for diving, would have a place in the market. Seems like DAN would be interested. Have you contacted them directly? And thanks for all the work, very informative.
Scuba is an expensive sport, like many others. I've purchased several BCDs but use my Deep Sea Supply exclusively now, because it's well designed, safe, reliable and simply works better than the others I own (expect when I want to warm water dive bare chested and it rubs). I've been to Tobin's...
The Hollis site wasn't functioning. Still not functioning. Any other way to get info about them? Sartek has a 21/13 that looks interesting. Wish there was a competively priced LED of equal performance to the HIDs.
A curiosity with the Atomic. I'm now over 100 dives and breath fairly efficiently and comfortably. I recently switched to the Z2 from a Sherwood Maximus with a significant improvement in reg performance. However, with a rapid deep breath there a high pitched annoying sound on both our B2 and Z2...
Missed some of the thread, heavy slogging. But as far as having a heart rate monitor while diving- for me it would be a good idea. I wear a monitor while bike riding, why not with diving? I had some heart disease and was given a rate limit by my cardiologist. That was lifted but still have...
Catalina dive park on a weekend can be a three dimensional LA traffic jam. I've been wacked on all sides. I also give the 'OK' sign when passing, not always sure whose 'fault' the contact was, but find that many in Catalina ignore the civility.
One time in Monterey, my wife and I were watching...
Harley,
I'm a physician and what you've said so far is very worrisome. I concur with the above comments that a visit to the ER is indicated. Joint pain and swelling like you describe needs an urgent diagnosis, especially if it has a bacterial cause. Please don't delay and keep us informed.
David
