May I know how many inches your white rope handle is and where you got it? Thanks.

Ikelite port for Canon 15mm fisheye + Metabones IV in A7R II housing?

Hi, what's the optimal port for the Canon 15mm fisheye lens + Metabones IV adapter inside an Ikelite A7R II housing and the 8-inch dome? Ikelite only lists the Sigma 15mm fisheye lens + Metabones on its website and I think the Canon lens is a few millimeters shorter? Thanks a lot for any help.

Ikelite housing for A7R II -- tiny viewfinder

I just got the Ikelite housing for the A7R II and was shocked to discover that this housing gives you a teeny-tiny view using the built-in eyepiece. Coming from the Ikelite housing for the Canon 5D II, I'd say this is a major downgrade as far as viewfinder use is concerned, which gives you about...

Looking for Slim Fins in Jakarta

Hi, I'm from Manila and I'm not aware of any local Force Fin dealers here. I'm traveling to Jakarta next month and I'm looking at replacing my 13-year-old Slim Fins and will buy there if available. Does anyone know if there's a dealer in Jakarta that carries Slim Fins, preferably the adjustable...

Having just returned from two weeks at the Atlantis resorts...

Travel advisories normally pertain to the Mindanao region because of Muslim secessionist groups, and even then, not the entire Mindanao is affected but only parts of it, mainly the ARMM region and nearby cities such as Cotabato. Add to this Jolo island, the southern tip of the Philippines that's...

    Toggle pawl replacement for DS-125

By the way, I'd like to suggest a different and better way of replacing the toggle pawl. Step #8 of the PDF manual states that one should "grab and drop the hex nut into the toggle pawl." This is very difficult since ensuring that the threaded index (the threaded part) of the toggle goes inside...

    Canon sx1is diaphragm and shutterspeed

How long have you been using the housing? Maybe the foam on the knob has flattened through frequent use. I had a similar problem with my old 5050z, which I have since sold. How about adding felt paper or foam to ensure proper contact?

    Canon sx1is diaphragm and shutterspeed

Make sure the tripod socket under the camera is not loose. If it is tight, I think the problem arises because the wheel or button is probably located in the upper part of the camera, and when you push or turn it, the camera tends to move forward. You can try putting an eraser inside the housing...

    Ikelite housing maintenance

I always rinse my housing after every dive and use mild soap (I use Dove) mixed with water after every trip, pushing every button while submerging the housing. Preventive maintenance is the key to maximizing the life of your housing. I'm not sure if a mild soap solution can fix your problem...

    Toggle pawl replacement for DS-125

Hello Ikelite, I have two Ikelite DS-125 battery packs with the defective toggle pawls. As you know, one of the packs (I have yet to use both battery packs in the water) broke before the official announcement from Ikelite. I have successfully replaced it using the kit sent by Mike, a member...

    Cleaning and Storing Sync cords

I just leave the lubricated o-rings at both ends and thread these into the black covers. My cord is still fine after five years.

Ikelite port for 14-54mm and EC-20?

The 14-54 is actually a cheap "macro" lens. Its closest focusing distance is about an inch from the front lens element. In fact, the Ikelite Web site says it does not require a diopter because it focuses close enough. I think I can live with that. The Ikelite Web site lists the #5510.24...

Ikelite port for 14-54mm and EC-20?

Does anybody know which Ikelite port I should get for the 14-54mm and EC-20 combo? Right now, I have the 8" dome assembly, the #5510.24 port for the 14-54mm and the #5510.25 port for the 7-14mm. I've checked the Ikelite Web site and can't find information on using teleconverters underwater...

Problems with E-3 housing and battery pack

Oh, I just got an e-mail from Ikelite telling me that they'e sending me two pieces (as requested) of the toggle pawl replacement kit under warranty (I think). The Ikelite setup is a good rig, once tamed. Here is a photo from a snorkeling trip early this month: Feeding: Regards, Norman...

Problems with E-3 housing and battery pack

Hi, do you mean putting solder on the camera hotshoe itself (green area in the photo below)? I have attached the camera firmly to the tray and there are no accessories that get in the way, but the way it is now, the top of the camera just doesn't get flushed against the housing back...

Problems with E-3 housing and battery pack

Okay, I went ahead and scraped the top of the hotshoe connector in the housing with a cutter. Guess what, it worked. Now, the top of the housing inside is no longer pressing the hotshoe and both strobes are firing now. I hope this lasts. Thank you to all those who tried to help. Now, I'm still...

Problems with E-3 housing and battery pack

About the two buttons (Function and Focus points) not working, here's what I did: I put an eraser inside the housing and sure enough, the two buttons started working. What the eraser does is it pushes the camera body against the housing back, making sure that it is a tight fit inside. About...

Problems with E-3 housing and battery pack

Thank you for the suggestions and encouragement. Taking a cue from your pointers, I found out that the top of the housing depresses the top of the hotshoe connector when the housing back is pushed forward and locked. Taking the housing back out again, I press the shutter and the strobe fires...

Problems with E-3 housing and battery pack

It looks like my woes with this setup (E-3) are far from over. I have three problems. 1. I set up the rig topside with the two strobes for the first time, and I have a problem having the strobes to fire. I've read about the experiences of some with a hotshoe connection being loose, and I've...
