Question Hollis HD200 Cam Band change out to Aqualung or Scubapro

I like it quite a lot. I can get it fitting tight to my body which is not something I could accomplish with my Aqualung Axiom Jacket. I like to feel like the tank is part of me and this bc accomplishes that for me. My trim is better with the HD compared to the jacket bc’s I’ve owned; and it is...

Question Hollis HD200 Cam Band change out to Aqualung or Scubapro

The one thing I do not care for with my Hollis HD200 is the cam band. It functions and is certainly adequate, but I would like to swap it out for metal catch and clamp style like the Aqualung or Scubapro. I am wondering if anyone has done this swap or can tell whether or not it even can be done...

Pro Mexico at Occidental Grand Nitrox???

Yes, sorry. I do mean Pro Dive Mexico. I got a report from a person who was there last week and who said Nitrox was not available. I put that together with another person’s report of a recent fire at Allegro and arrived at the conclusion the two reports were connected. Since I am traveling there...

Pro Mexico at Occidental Grand Nitrox???

I think a fire at Allegro took out the capability of producing Nitrox and thus the Pro Mexico dive op at Occidental Grand is only able to provide plain air. Anyone have any more accurate information regarding the availability of Nitrox at Occidental Grand. TIA Mark

Trip Report Punta Sur - Devils Throat - August, 2022

Last time I was in Coz, we did the Throat and it WAS NOT anticipated. I was on 32%. No issues resulted, but it was, shall we say, a “concern”.

Closed Magnahelic and Pressure Gauge Console

I have a Magnahelic Gauge and IP Pressure gauge setup from Scuba Tools mounted on a Scuba Tools stand. It comes with adapters for various brand hose connections. It also has the universal mouth piece accessory for checking cracking pressure. This setup is in virtually new condition having been...

Both my wife and I have brought Sudafed to Coz each trip there. It has not yet been a problem, but I suppose there could always be a first time.

SK7 compass dial is off its pivot. Fixable??

+1 for the smack The card coming off the pivot happens with mine all the time. A sound thump usually takes care of the issue with no after effects. YMMV

    Occidental Cozumel Dive shop?

I have been going to Coz for several years and staying at the Occidental Cozumel, not Allegro. Pro Dive Mexico is certainly adequate and fits my needs nicely. They visit various sites on a schedule based upon the day of the week. Run times vary from 50 to 60 minutes. Sometimes the boats are full...

    Vendor recommendations for Rx masks?

+1 For Prescription Dive Masks. They appear to be able to put prescription lenses in about any mask. They use inserts to accomplish this. Seavision (at least when I last used them) grinds the prescription into the lens which is a nice way of doing the job, but you’ll want to be certain the...

    Scuba based reality show

My dive buddy and I were approached by a rep from this show while we were on a dive trip in the Carribbean. Apparently, there are a series of challenges, like finding an object, or maneuvering through an obstacle course while wearing a black out mask, and some other stuff along those lines. From...

    Cozumel in January?

I have generally been in Cozumel, in late April and early May each year. We are thinking of going down in January this year but am wondering about weather, particularly the “Norte” issue in January. Are we likely to experience these events (Norte) during January? TIA Mark
