Mammoth lake dive park has been re-opened by Maximum Scuba.

In my opinion, I thought this game plan was rather lacking with the previous regime. I really look forward to warmer waters. I will be there for sure.

June 2013 - Back to the Summer Again

I'm sitting here on the balcony waiting for the town to come alive. Hopefully dive #1 in a few hours. Not sure about the weather for later. We might get the edge of the tropical thing to the south. Man, I love it here.

Carnival Cruiser .. What operator for Belize?

Last fall Carnival didn't offer a dive excursion so we booked SeaSports Belize. And were so glad we did. Eli the divemaster was one of the most enthusiastic dive masters we ever met. You can't go wrong with them and they are very aware of your ship schedule in order to get you back in time.

June 2013 - Back to the Summer Again

Last night +1 and I decided I was grumpy, grouchy, and just not pleasant to be around. The only fix is a trip to Cozumel. So we are booked for June 16-20. We are staying at Vista Del Mar and diving with Aldora. See y'all on Santa Rosa Wall.

My first go with the GOPRO

Yes, I got the URPro CY filter offered with the Blurfix Adapter.

My first go with the GOPRO

Yes you can but also the boats overhead and that pesky breathing and bubble sound that is always present.

My first go with the GOPRO

Marty, thanks to you and all your work with your comparison videos. Those comparisons were the primary reason I went the direction I did. I upgraded the firmware immediately after the purchase so I don't know the difference between before and after.

My first go with the GOPRO

I have to admit I didn't pay attention to the Memory Card spec other than the capacity. I used a SanDisk Ultra 16GB card. It has a 4 on it so I guess that means a Class 4. The GOPRO was set on R3 as per Marty's suggestion on other threads.

My first go with the GOPRO

At the very end of the video with the pair of Four Eyed Butterfly fishes, you can see the flash. It resulted in this:

My first go with the GOPRO

As mentioned above, I attached my GOPRO to the Strobe arm tray, or whatever it is called, of my Sealife DC1000 camera. I used the plastic display mount that the GORPO was mounted on in its packaging. I trimmed it down with a Dremel cut off wheel to match the profile of the tray, and then...

My first go with the GOPRO

I mounted mine to the bottom of my Sealife camera with Strobe and Video Light. I will post a picture and explanation later. The GOPRO is so small that I don't think holding the camera by itself will result in shakey images.

My first go with the GOPRO

I agree with the above. Snake River Protyping sent the adapter immediately so 2 weeks should be no problem. Just give yourself 24 hours to install the adapter and to allow the silicone to cure. Also a water pressure test is probably recommended (I did it in the bottom of an 8-foot pool).

My first go with the GOPRO

Thanks to all the great suggestions here at Scubaboard, I decided to purchase a GOPRO along with the Snake River Prototype Blurfix and the URPRO CY filter. The results were stunning and a huge upgrade over the video feature of my Sealife DC1000. Having become a regular land based diver in...

Bonaire Shore Diving Made Easy, 6th Edition - ???

LOL. Just returned from my first Bonaire trip and this is so true.

Show us your Sealife weekend diving pics!

Sealife Joe's post mostly had to do with focusing, and I think focusing is probably the biggest key to success. Taking time to let the camera focus properly makes all the difference in the world. Simply mashing the shutter button down and hoping for the best usually results in the worst.

Show us your Sealife weekend diving pics!

My gear is a DC1000 with a single Sealife external flash. I also used the flash diffuser on most of the shots (I am pretty sure all shown here had it flipped down) and the wide angle lens. I did have a lot of problems with backscatter on this trip because the water wasn't as clear as it could...

    10 Days to Bonaire!

This was exactly my question because I am making my first Bonaire trip next week. I know all about the "Leave nothing in the car" stuff but was wondering about the tanks for the possible 2nd dive. What if some local diver thief comes along and takes the tanks? Do the shops hold you...
