I don't have many pics from the Cooper trip Saturday since I forgot my camera. So I'm gonna post what I have here. Sorry you missed it Aeromike, but we'll hook up and do it again.
Conditions were pretty sucky above water. Cold in the morning and very strong winds pretty much all day. Water...
That's why I started using my BC pockets. In goes the loot then zip it shut, smaller quality teeth usually go inside my glove on top of my hand. Holding a light in one hand and a river pick in the other is begging for a lost bag, at least for me it is.
I assume it's a Sand Tiger. Do you keep your goody bag hooked on the front of your BC while searching, does it work alright? I generally just stuff my BC pockets and only use my bag for bottles.
Nice jars Lee:D
I'm gonna try to hit the low country rivers more this year. Last year we spent most our time in the Edisto river and tried the Combahee without much luck. Might see you out there this year
It does look good Lee. Unfortunately the whole river looks like it should full of fossils. I've never been near the areas you have marked so I can't comment on them.:dontknow:
I haven't been 25 miles above Givhans ferry, I'd estimate maybe 10 miles. A friend and I dove some bluffs that looked promising but didn't pan out.
Just about every time I've been in the Edisto the water has been pretty low flow and we've had to get out the boat to pull it over some sand...
I'm no expert, but I've not found much above Givhan Ferry mostly deep sand and a few small teeth.
A small boat with small motor is essential above the upper 17. I've used my bigger boat below upper 17 and still got a nice river polish on the prop. The boat ramps are hit and miss...
I've left my boat unattended there and a ton of other places and have never had anyone mess with it. I just hide the keys and put the flag out. I'm usually far more worried about the vehicle left at the ramp.
