    P valve & condom catheter 101

Rubbing alcohol is cleaner and is better for disinfecting than peroxide. I use a syringe to flush the alcohol through. Not TOO sure I'd want blow the tube with a mouthful of anything, but, hey, you only live once, then you dive again!

    ITS ALL GREEN!! Yikes!

I use FastStone myself and I found very easy to use after a short learning curve. Once you're accustomed to it you can work wonders with your editing. It's free for private use but if you want to use it for business, there's a license fee to pay, but you really don't need to go that far. The...

    Oriskany Trip

Hello folks! Planning a 2 to 4 day club dive July 2012 (thereabouts) to the Oriskany with about 20 divers, a few techies and the rest recreational. Anyone know some good dive operators and decent, inexpensive hotels in the area? Any recomendations most welcome! Thanks!

    Scubapro Jet Fins

I use both the ScubaPro Jets and the Twin jet Max fins. Both styles work very well in currents, frog, helicopter and back finning with a slighter edge to the Jets. The Twin Jet Max I find feels a bit easier on the legs and knees though. Thant's my rant and I'm sticking to it!

    P valve & condom catheter 101

Not sure if you meant "yes" to the "dense " part or yes to the latter half of my inquiry, If it's the last part, thanks! If it's the "dense" part... my wife has often said I am sometimes dense! not sure why .....:D

    P valve & condom catheter 101

I must be dense, but I'm as I type this, am installing my pee valve. With respect to the U routing of the hose, do I route it up the middle of the abdomen then down? Will it stay secure that way?

    Florida Diving Questions

" Broward County (Fort Lauderdale is the center of the county) is the only place in the continental US where you can swim off shore to a coral reef! How far depends on what beach; it's closest in at Lauderdale-by-the-Sea (LBTS)" In West Palm Beach County, one of the PREMIER Beach Diving...

Split Fins, best bang for the buck

Yes, I do love the Scuba Pro Twin Jets! Frog kicks and helicopter turns ARE easy! Performing back kicks I found fairly easy as well, but you need to practice a bit. I have the Hollis F1 for my drysuit diving, like the those fins, but the Twin Jets ARE easier on the knees and legs overall. My LDS...

    Drysuit undergarment question

I'm from Bangor! I still dive there especially to Deer Isle when I come north from South Florida, When I'm up there, I'll run two layers of 200 if needed which works best for me since I migrate frequently. I prefer the flexibility.

OS Systems drysuit - feedback requested

I just bought a new OS SARS ds to replace a ds that was stolen off a friend's porch up in Maine ( warning, never lend your ds to a wetsuit driven diver - don't ask, I won't tell), and have two dives so far on it. It dives well once I dialed the proper level of weights. I like the suit's...

Hollis F 1 sizing question... (not sure if in the right thread)

Dove with the Hollis F1 fins today. They handle very, very well! Pleasantly surprised! Thank you all for your feedback! A excellent investment indeed!

Hollis F 1 sizing question... (not sure if in the right thread)

Yes I did try them on at the shop. The XL did fit, but was way too snug with my toes which would be too uncomfortable, even with the springs in the out position. The XXL fit perfectly, and by adjusting the springs in, it was very comfortable. Heading out today to put them through their paces...

Hollis F 1 sizing question... (not sure if in the right thread)

I had posted earlier elsewhere in the wrong location. I just bought an OS drysuit with a size 12 boot (they're attached) My jets are XL (10-12) spring straps which is obviously too small and the Twin Jet Max XL (11-13) spring straps which do fit well, but I'm a paddle fin boy. Plus have the...

Being Forced to Buy Equipment AT LDS for Class

I once worked for a LDS who even had the students sign a form stating that if they didn't purchase or use all gear from him then they would have to pay "full price" for the class. Even if they had their own gear. I would go elsewhere for sure. Eventually, those LDS will go out of business

    Hollis F1 fin size?

I just bought an OS drysuit with a size 12 boot (they're attached) My jets are XL (10-12) spring straps which is obviously too small and the Jet Fins Max XL (11-13) spring straps which do fit well, but I'm a paddle fin boy. Looked at the F1 today and at the XXL size, which eyeballing and taking...

Drysuit vs BCD / Wing as Your Buoyancy Control

I use the BC for for buoyancy, and, just enough air in the drysuit to eliminate squeeze. Using your drysuit just for buoyancy is a prelude to a potentially nasty situation which could earn you a ride to the chamber. Simplicity will always win...
