Hello all:
Does anyone know where to acquire the grey plastic cylindrical plastic housing for the battery pack? I believe my Viper will need a battery. Found a 40AH pack but it meausres 12 inches. The OEM pack measures about 9 inches in length. Plan to install the plastic end caps onto the...
- Setting up DPV (tow cords, carry handle, trim/buoyancy)
- Handling the DPV on the trigger & off trigger.
- Planning your dive with consideration to your trigger time as well as your gas & deco obligations.
- Emergency cases (Out of gas, dead DPV, run-away DPV)
- Maintaining team formation...
Here's how I have rigged my Genesis 2.1. The G2.1 is finicky to trim. Everything at the nose has positive buoyancy apart from the hose clamp and the bolt snap. The webbing floats as does the double braided rope.
My Submerge Viper has a hard handle at the hose. However, I prefer holding it...
Personally, I would keep the longer tube and adjust for the battery capacity you desire. I have a G2.1 that I trimmed for salt water. For fresh water, I have to remove the rear 1lb counter weight. Handle rotates to 6'oclock, not exactly ideal if you're close to the bottom and have to release...
The second stages do appear to have titanium air barrels. I can see machining marks on the first stage, something that is not present on a chrome plated brass finish. Chrome plated brass is far more reflective/shiny than bare Titanium as well.
Which first stage did you the purchase? From the...
The Atomic B2 regulator has a chrome plated brass first stage with a second stage that has Titanium components. The Ti2 second stage is identical to the B2 second stage apart from the face plate and the adjustment knob.
The first stage that you have pictured looks to be made of machined...
@BoltSnap :
I understand the function of the environmental seal. It's a regulator that is used for a deco bottle. I pressurized the second stage but then close the tank valve. I'm guessing water entered through the 2nd stage due to the seat saving orifice. Yes, I periodically open/close the...
Hello All:
Had to service my deco reg last week as I discovered contamination within the first stage of my Atomic B2. Not sure if the water entered the first stage via the second stage or via the DIN inlet. I use the environmental sealing boot for all my regulators. While I had a Christolube...
Both, Scubapro & Atomic, regulators breathe exceptionally well. They have some functional differences that might sway you toward one or another. The Scubapro has a manually actuated venturi switch, while the Atomic has this feature adjusted by depth (AFC). The Atomic second stages have the...
@aleus :
Neither the MK25-S620Xti or T3 have 100% titanium construction. Both have titanium first stages and with plastic second stages that features a titanium air barrel. The T3 has a titanium demand lever, while the S620Xti has stainless steel demand lever. The piston in the Scubapro is...
Had a Perdix and a Teric. Sold the Teric and kep the Perdix. Intended on using as a daily watch but it's large and heavy. I'm only three apples high so it matters. If you're taller an of larger stature, you probably won't notice it.
Preferred the larger display of the Teric. Primarily dive...
I have both the Bare SB Undergarment (blue shaggy one piece). My dive buddy is super skinny and she's never has any issues with them. She's done lots of 1.5 hour dives in them. If the water drops into the high 40s or if the dives run deco or to the 2.0 hour mark, I find the BZ400 keeps me...
Goodness... 10 weeks to service a regulator? Do you know if a back-ordered part has caused this? The aforementioned AL Core regulators breathe very nicely. I had a chance to breathe from one some years ago.
Regarding servicing your regulator, DeepSix & Hog will sell you service kits in...
@whynot :
How many dives do you have on your suit? Have you noticed any where on the shoulders or under the arms, where the straps of your BCD rub against the suit? Does it have any wear to the crotch area? Does the suit have the same rubber tape used on you E Motion +?
O.
Has anyone seen the Santi Avatar drysuit upclose? Does it fit similar to the other Santi drysuits? Is the material more robust than the lightweight fabric found on the E. Motion? My E. Motion is near end of its life and there is only some much Aquaseal I can put on the suit.
Appreciate any...
Her light currently has the four Led design, which to my knowledge has yet to fail. When it malfunctioned in my care, the light head had the single large LED.
