Hey Bob! I wondered if that was the Bob I knew. I looked at pictures you've posted, and indeed it is! I am glad to hear you guys had a good time this weekend. :)
Hopefully vis will be better by next weekend after the bottom settles from sinking the truck.:D
I am sorry you had this experience. True that it does have some poor vis at times, but other times it is quite good. I completely disagree with your comments about the owner. Honestly, I was very surprise that you thought this, but let's not debate your feeling on this subject. Let's just leave...
Mermet Springs has several paddlefish... (around 200 in the quarry). You will usually see them about 25 feet deep at spoonbill point (at the wall) and the cove to the right of it. Sometimes at this time of year you may even see one over by the school bus or the plane since there are less people...
My father-in-law is a paramedic here in KY. He is currently working at 2 ambulance services. He loves his job, but around here, they just don't get paid very much. (At least not in the western end of the state.)
We are going on a cruise in April. We're going to dive in Barbados and Dominica. Then we are going back to Bonaire in July. So we do have trips planned this year but not for a few more months.
We've been diving dry at Mermet some on days when I'm not working and hubby isn't working on his dive...
Absolutely dive Bonaire! Awesome diving there! I spent a week there last July and will be returning this summer. There are lots and lots of great dive sites on the island. The other places I haven't been...
My husband and I will be on this trip in April as well. We are definitely diving in Barbados. We booked through a dive operation close to the pier where we will dock. I think we will dive in Dominica too, but we don't have anything set up yet.
Sneaking over from Kentucky to comment... :D
This will be the one weekend I won't be there.. (Just my luck that I have to have classes when fellow SB members will be there.) My husband will be there though (probably working the fill station). Vis has been great and the spoonbill have been...
I just wanted to say that we, personally, have had good experiences when diving on cruises. If this cruise is the same one we are looking at (I'm 99% sure it is... see darnallj's post above), we will be arranging dives with the LDS as there is only 1 location where the ship offers diving as a...
This spring my husband and I will be going on a cruise. We'd like to dive at a couple of the ports where we stop. We will be booking with with a LDS, not through the cruise line. If you could only choose two diving destinations (from the list below), which two would you choose and why...
Bag_One: Yep! That's it! :)
JBD: We haven't attempted the lake yet. We'd like to do the rock quarry sometime - but we'd need to get there early in the morning before it starts filling up with boats full of drinking people (you know how it is there). There's no telling what we'd find! ...
Mid 50s at the surface, upper 40s at the nose of the plane. On the first dive we helped some of the staff scrub on the plane to clean it up a bit. Since we were working and moving around so much, we didn't really even noticed the temperature. But on the second dive, we just swam and we...
The water's still cold, but is starting to warm up. We did two good dives - the last one was my 50th! Would like to have stayed down longer but had to warm back up. Great diving day! :)
