Had a 1998 Ford keyfob that I regularly took unprotected diving over 100ft and it worked perfectly fine. Had a Mercedes keyfob I ruined in a few feet of water.
That's unfortunate, I'm in Ohio and wanted to try ice diving too. We didn't have ice last year at the local quarries where I could get a class. Wasn't planning on further travel or waiting another year...
What is recommended for someone who usually quarry dives not super far from aid and has a partial al40 of o2 but hasn't taken CPR for about 8 years (know its probably time to take cpr again, thinking of dedicating al80 to o2) which of the 3 rescueean kits do you recommend, the cheapest one?
I'm not familiar with diviac or macdive but I've been mostly happy with subsurface. Thought about adding or requesting a few features/changes to it but haven't pursued it.
In Hawaii as I recall they mounted two lasers in parallel on a bar so they were 2 feet apart so they could shine on Manta rays, take a picture and "measure" approximately how big the Manta ray was based on how far apart the dots were
Tried to go to caveatlas several times the last few days and it says "Not Hacked" with a shrug. Any insight what happened of if/when its coming back?
Thanks everyone,

Been very happy with all three shops. Most interactions recently were with Aquatic Adventures Ohio and Cincinnati Scuba and Aquatics, great people there.
It was nice to meet you Tammy, although I must admit I find it ironic that a couple of divers from the midwest would meet in FL. Congratulations on your certification! -- Jim.
Hi Scubagal,
Looked through your photos and saw the ones of Bora Bora, wow that is beautiful. Guess I should start saving up, wasn't expecting to see Villas going for as much as $4,000/night. Thanks for sharing the photos and giving me something to work towards!
Jim
Because I was curious about the sustainability of Quarry Catfish, I consulted the Seafood Watch Guide from April 2008: Monterey Bay Aquarium: Download a Regional Seafood Watch Card
