We only have two weeks so driving and camping is not an option. I was hoping to exploit cheap flights to SJD and shuttle or drive from there. Loreto and La Paz as dive destinations are new to me. Is it feasible to fly to cabo and drive or bus to these towns?
I just returned from my twelfth dive trip to the Yucatan. I decided it is time to try areas closer to my home in California. I have been fishing in Baja near SJD but never dived there. I would like recommendations for areas or liveaboards suitable for late December. My buddy is a teacher so we...
This does not work for me. I joined the board over ten years ago. It shows I do not belong to any user group so there is no option to unjoin. I would like to remove the solo diver user title.

Well, I still haven't gone to Cabo yet. Cozumel and cenotes keeps creeping to the top of the list. Anyone care to comment on their experiences since 2014? I am really hoping to visit this summer.
Great replies! I am considering getting a boat big enough for three divers and gear. Two in the water, one in the boat at all times. 6 tanks. Something like an 18 ft Boston Whaler. Is this reasonable?
I have dived many times from Jupiter through Key Largo. I notice there are many charters but rarely any people diving from small private boats. Many sites are close to shore and the seas often flat. Why do so few people dive from their own boats?
Thanks for all the replies. Nice to have additional perspectives. I would like to believe my experience this year was not a trend. I did dive more shallow sites rather than the walls and caverns I prefer.
Only sighted one very small lionfish.
I just returned from my twelfth trip to Cozumel in nine years. The conditions have varied a bit between seasons and trips. I'm not certain if the overall health of the reefs is steadily declining or I have become jaded. Both numbers and variety of species seem reduced. Green moray eels in...
I am, when the mud settles a bit. You can also add Caples in the Sierras and the the Thermalito afterbay in Oroville for an Alaska-like salmon experience in late summer.
My girlfriend and I are doing a liveaboard in June. We are interested in seeing the country if there are "must see" things to do. A few quick internet searches did not reveal much. Do most divers just go to dive or am I missing something?
I just stumbled across my old thread during a Google search on the same topic! I can report that the access to my old favorite Folsom Lake site (Dyke 8/Folsom Point) closed down several years ago. I did several disappointing dives in Natomas Lake from the Hwy 50 access area.
I plan to dive the...
This issue came up on a dive charter recently. A diver with over 1000 dives including planned decompression dives wanted to dive a deep wreck. The diver only had an Open Water certification card and offered to write and sign an affidavit of his experience to satisfy the liability requirements of...
I have never seen these pullover gloves used before. I own a set of the Sitech system with the screw off removal. I hate them for a variety of reasons and plan to either run my truck over hem or just sell them them on Ebay.
What is the LEAST investment I need to use the pullover gloves with a...
Mine leaked all the time the first dozen times they were used. Now I push the cuffs together all the way. It never occurred to me that they would seal otherwise!
I have tried paraffin and latex lube. The paraffin made it worse. The lube makes them easier to attach but no easier to remove. Is there another type of wax, maybe drysuit zipper wax?
My Sitech rings are almost impossible to unscrew at the end of each dive. They are clean and I have triend replacing the o-rings several time. Anyone had and resolved this problem?
