First time diving in Seattle area

Check with Lighthouse Diving in Lynnwood. There was a group that would dive Tuesday nights at Seacrest Park. It was led by an instructor and some dive masters. Regulars in the group included divers that worked at the Seattle Aquarium. They welcomed newcomers and visitors who wanted to dive...

Night diving - what is it like?

I've done a couple of night dives at Cozumel, and they were awesome! We saw octopuses hunting, giant crabs, and a squid came up to me to check me out. Up here in the Puget Sound area, I done lots of night dives, and they were really cool as well.

    Liquivision not selling computers anymore

Like my Perdix AI? I mentioned the new Liquivision being the Atomic Wrist mounted computer because on the Atomic forum, the yet to be delivered wrist mount computer is said to be able to receive buddy air signals from over 250 feet. It seems to me that Atomic is implementing the transmitter...

    What is a dive snob?

In the spirit of Jeff Foxworthy... If you've complained about the student bloom, you might be a dive snob. If you've referred to a jacket style BC as a poodle jacket, you might be a dive snob. If you've said that a dive computer is a crutch, you might be a dive snob. If you've said that...

Did I kill my dive light?

Your experience is similar to my dealing with UK. I had a light that flooded. I figured it was a lost cause, so I tossed it in the dumpster at our complex. My instructor told me I should have tried to send it to UK, so I retrieved the light from the dumpster and contacted UK. They had me...

Article: Huish Outdoors and Suunto join forces in the U.S.

Isn't Atomic part of Huish? I wonder if they'll promote Suunto computers over the Atomic Cobalt, or the Liquivision computers. This should be interesting.

    What to tell the spouse

My situation is similar. My wife wanted and got an $8000 Brother embroidery machine. She promised never to question my scuba purchases, as long as I felt we could afford it. She didn't mind when I got my camera, housing, and strobes. Sweet! reo

    The Homestead Crater - Details

I did a dive in Homestead Crater the day after Thanksgiving in 2005. There were two things that I found interesting. First, the water temp was 96 degrees. It was very warm and very relaxing. Second, if you dive there, you are prohibited from wearing exposure protection--no wetsuits allowed...

    Embarrassing gun related incidents

I went duck hunting a few years ago, actually quite a few years ago, with my dad and my brother. My brother and I were teenagers at the time. On the way out to the blind, my brother managed to get some mud plugged into the end of the barrel of his shotgun, without him knowing it. He shot at a...
