    Shaka Divers

Just wanted to give my opinion after a wonderful experience. I recently dove with Doug from Shaka Divers. Really nice guy with a passion for scuba. Most charters I have seen are very expensive and some of them just drop you off near a beach (which you could have driven to). We met up with...

    Mask choice

It might sound dorky and repetitive. Fit is paramount and the sad news...you won't even find it while trying it on at the dive shop. For simplification: I have a Tusa mask I bought at my LDS. Fit was perfect, even paid extra for prescription in it. I spent lots of $ in this. After 25 dives, I...

    Sub-Gravity backplates

I was looking into buying a weighted STA. (Like the Halcyon ones) But the price made me jump a bit. The I started looking and I found this: Stainless Steel Backplate with Continuous Webbing Harness System | Subgravity They have a thicker backplate that weights 10#. and they also have a...

    First regulator

I'm always voting for used. I bought a brand new regulator kit upon receiving my CMAS 2* (AOW). All the stuff i bought new full price... I dont have it anymore. You will adjust and try new things and your kit will adapt with that. It's easier to get rid of stuff when you pay but a fraction...

    Best bang for the buck?

I was just saying I'd like to try the Poseidon and I heard that they were manufactured differently. ...I'm not a regulator expert. But thanks for the info.

    Best bang for the buck?

Nice! I want to try Poseidons. I hope you have the 1st stage that goes with them... upstream and all that.

    Best bang for the buck?

Ok, I will not get in the rant fest... But used regulators is the way to go. A) You don't like it... change it. It's kinda hard to do with a Rego you bought full price. B) If you take your time you can find nice used gear for cheap. Usually, used gear should be 50% of current value or less...

    New Hog piston regs

I do understand. Don't worry. But a bit more information here on SB or on your site might have reassured potential clients of what's going on. Also, I asked how these would work in cold environment. Have you tested them in cold water?

    New Hog piston regs

That's what I've been told last year. Nice ----------------------------------------------- These look pretty nice but how will they hold up against cold water? Open piston regs aren't very cold resistant. Except if they have some sort of "environment seal". IF you can call it that (lube in...

    New Hog piston regs

Is there any news on this BP2? Haven't seen anything posted online and no news since 6months ago when it was supposed to come out "soon". It's been more than a year since we heard about the BP2...
