Has anyone ever used a mask mounted light?

I have one - the only time I really use it is when we have the Lake Travis underwater cleanup in the fall. It can help me spot cans, bottles, etc. in the muck and frees both hands to hold the mesh bag and pick up trash. Other than that - it pretty much stays in my mask case.

Flying with dive equipment tomorrow. Any suggestions?

I have a Akona regulator bag. I carry that on; it'll contain my reg, computer(s), and maybe small lights. For the rest, I got a plastic trunk from a local sporting goods store and pack BPW, mask, fins, etc. Southwest is nice because the second bag flies free. If you go this route, make sure that...

    How would you handle this?

So I don't know a great deal about GPOs, but it appears she weighed 70 pounds and was 9 feet across. If it's illegal to use weapons or tools to take them, how did he manage to get her out of the water at all? Was she in an extremely weakened state already from guarding her eggs? Seems like an...

    Log book mockery?!

I don't mock; I fill out my logbook even though I have the dives on computer. In my OW class I have students log depth, time, pressure group, but also tank size, wetsuit type and thickness, fresh or salt water, weight used, whether we adjusted the weighting from dive to dive, air consumption...

I want to design a Dive Watch. What would make the best watch?

In addition to what the other posters said, I need good contrast between the watch face and the second hand. There are skills that students have to do for a certain number of seconds; it can be tough to see a thin second hand if the pool's a little murky.

    Low Viz scare ya ?

I teach in Central Texas; we do our certifying dives in Lake Travis where the vis isn't ever going to be confused with blue-water diving. I'll get students sometimes who are scared of diving in low-viz conditions. So, I'll have them list what's in the water that could hurt them. (The answer...

    Diving Without Depth/time only SPG

Can people come up with situations where they believe there's minimal risk to do it? Yes. Are those the only situations in which they dive? Probably not. So, they have access to methods by which they can track depth and time. If they have the means to track depth and time, is it worth the risk...
