A Post Full of Thoughts... Comments Welcomed

Thought # 1. I'm sure many of you have heard of the tragic death of the DM performing a rescue of another diver off the coast of North Carolina. Could this tragic death have been prevented? The answer seems to be an emphatic NO. The death was due to a health matter and nothing more...

    Do unlogged dives count?

If you do 500 dives and do not log them... is that like if a tree falls in the forrest and nobody sees or hears it? Just curious if any dive operators judge people by their logbooks... or do they judge more by how a person sets up their gear, relaxes in conversation about diving... you...

I find it interesting that dive shops think they can deny service to anyone without a C-Card. The ACLU should be notified. I'm sure if enough uncertified divers complained and brought forward enough lawsuits... something would give. I see the denial of any service equivelent to denying a person...

What Was Your Most Creative Equipment Repair on the Fly?

Sometimes you need a boat... So on vacation in Roatan with a new Captain at the wheel we ran aground and tore the prop up so bad it wouldn't propel the boat through the water... so I volunteered to pull the prop off and replace it with the spare they had on board... the DM had no idea how to...

    Meeting up with sharks

Are you kidding me? Sharks are one of the greatest reasons to go diving. You can not walk through a den of Lions on the Serengetti or a pack of Tigers or for that matter Jackals or bears and get out safely... but you can swim in the middle of 100 sharks and feel quite confident that you will...
