First, I don't know anything about this situation other than that the diver drowned at Ginnie Springs. I haven't asked anyone for info because I don't have a dog in the fight anymore because I don't dive or cave dive anymore. I will tell a personal story because I think it might be useful for...
If someone really cared they could start a cave diving accident analysis organization, make the records requests, and post the reports. There is literally nothing stopping anyone from doing this if they are willing to spend the time, the nominal amount of money, and accept the liability and/or...
I'll tell the story. I was on a multi stage dive and dropping my second stage and about to go to the backgas. I took the stage reg out and had it in my hand while going to the backgas reg. In this instant I must have blasted a drop of water into whatever the layrngospasm sweet spot is. When...
And I'm praising you for it - I was feeling somewhat gaslit when I reread the OP and was deriving a different meaning than what I remembered from the first time I read it.
Thanks for posting the original version its very illuminating. I think anyone reading this would take away that you were accusing the training director of (1) pushing to the front of the line and (2) making the comment in quotations. Now you've cleared up that isn't true, thanks.
Ok, and this person who did this wasn't the "very high profile cave instructor and even training director for a cave association and shop owner" right? Does the gravamen of your accusation against that person boil down to being an accessory after the fact to line cutting by one of the support...
Manatee springs checks people in as groups, not individuals. If the first person there checked in their whole group I dont see the big deal. Any given weekend there's an instructor waiting at the front of the line to hold a place for his class. Sounds like a mountain out of a molehill to me.
If you have never done an OC dive to the depth you're bringing your CCR your bailout calculations are purely theoretical. If your bailout calculations are purely theoretical, in the event of an emergency bailout, you will have some queasy feeling knowing that you have never accomplished a safe...
That's the point I was trying to make. AG claims Z system is safer than backmount or sidemount (source ) so why doesn't he go "all in" and drop isolation manifolded doubles and have the UTD backmount system be independent backmount cylinders that are plumbed into qc6? I suspect it's because...
Looks like you had fun. I see you're in Spring Hill and close to a lot of springs and sinks - If this kind of diving interests you, have you looked into taking a cavern course?
