    Diving in Taiwan?

Great soft and hard corals, lots of small reef fish. There have been Mantas and Mobula rays in Kenting this past two weeks, probably due to the coral spawning about 3 weeks ago.

    Diving in Taiwan?

I would say don't worry about going through Taipei airport and 'losing' scuba gear. It's the Philippine and Indonesia that you have to worry about that. Diving in Taiwan is not cheap, price wise it is comparable with Japan or Korea not the Philippines or Thailand. If you have all your own gear...

Information Source for Scuba Diving in Taiwan

Hi, If you wish to dive in the south of Taiwan, winter is actually the best time for a number of reasons. #1. great vis, as it is the dry season in the south all the sites usually have 20 meters+ vis, sometimes a lot more especially on the offshore sites. #2 far fewer divers in the water...

Trip Report - Taiwan Green Island Hammerheads

Hi It depends on how much time you have and how you plan to travel, fly or take the ferry. There are plenty of dive sites on both islands. The two islands are a long way apart, time wise, if you are taking the ferry. I would advise against taking a 2 week PADI DM course. With these types of...

Trip Report - Taiwan Green Island Hammerheads

Not really, both places are very small. There are only 4 dive shops on Orchid Island and about 10 on Green Island. There is no public transport on either island so the first thing you have to do is rent a motor scooter for about NT$400 per day + gas. If you are going to Green Island, the first...

    Diving in Taiwan

Hi, The sharks are there every winter from Late December to the 1st week in March. But it all depends on the weather, the colder it is the more they make their appearance and they like strong currents so you can only dive on them with a good chance of seeing them at full moon or new moon.. I...

    Diving in Taiwan

Hi Everyone, I will pop into this discussion very late as I have only just noticed this thread. A lot of misconceptions about Taiwan diving voiced here and just plain wrong information. I have lived in Taiwan for the past 26 years dived here since 1988 and have been an active dive instructor...
