I personally have no issues equalizing with a simple "swallow / gulp" maneuver. But when teaching.....my best advice was to press your tongue as much as possible to the roof of your mouth, then pinch nose and blow through nose.
Why the need to have access to the pony valve during a dive? My back mount pony is fully open and charged and ready for use if needed. If there is an emergency then I am headed to the surface.
As much as I would love to dive the waters of Egypt, I just cannot justify any support to the economy of a country that as a society has no concept of women having equal rights and even today has little to no repercussions for horrendous atrocities against women.
The black color is really not as big of an issue as you would think. Between dives I just peel off the top and let it hang tied across my waist. For instabuddy ID, I have two pairs of identical Mares Quatro +. One pair in blue and one in white. I wear one of each and then am the only guy...
I am 6'1 and 250lbs and I bring this for any diving that's 80F temp or higher. If there is no indication or season issues for jellies, then I just wear a long sleeve rashguard and board shorts.

Yep..... especially when listening to Credence in a beach community where the rug really brings the room together...
PS. "This is not Viet Nam...... This is bowling. We have rules here."
Totally get it John....... but the point is........is that poison commonly found in 100% lemon juice? The KEY term here is 100%. Maybe the Real Lemon folks should say something more honest and accurate like 99% Real Lemon Juice..... But then that might affect sales...
Ok..... thought this was interesting for an open forum non-diving related post.
For the past 20 or 30 years, my traditional go-to cocktail has always been vodka, club soda and a healthy oz of pure 100% lemon juice. I've always used the Costco lemon juice since I was happy that it was 100%...
Yeah....... I didn't understand that the drill was in full gear... and I totally agree that in full gear without fins I probably could not make the distance on a single breath..
Did this drill allow you to use fins?
No offence intended...... but 15 meters, even without fins......should easily be covered in way less than 30 seconds. Maybe I am not fully understanding the question.
October is the only month of the year that I've ever dived the CI's. My old club from the Bay Area (Salt Water Revival) chartered with Truth Aquatics for the opening week of lobster season for MANY years. Can't say exactly what the varying water temps were but the low 60's feels about...
Wow..... Great pic... as a Northern California ab diver I never saw what we affectionally refer to as "The Landlord" but pretty sure that they've seen me. Totally agree with you on not wanting to meet that beautiful fish on a low vis dive........or at dusk or dawn......or on rent day!
All great responses. Thanks! To be honest, I even had a difficult time switching from a standard SPG to the Pro Plus 3. I guess I just had the old "boomer" mindset that actual physical "pressure" pushing a needle to move the needle was more trustworthy than a computer taking data, storing...
I was curious as to the use of the acronym "AI" when folks here on SB are talking computers in various threads. I've personally always considered AI to stand for "Air Integrated" - or "Air Integration".......but I think sometimes others here may be thinking that the term AI is referring only...
Point taken.
To stay fully on your topic......hopefully someone will want to take the time and effort to send you their specialized and specific radar reflective SMB that may or may not be effective...... so that you can use it for a couple of weeks on your trip.......and then once your done...
I agree with this. It's even questionable whether or not light reflective tape even makes a difference. What does make a difference is the shear size, density and overall height above water for the target. My personal boat radar (Garmin Fantom 18HD) can acquire targets as small as birds and...
