read my report from CR in May, on the Caribe side, and to the one that said it cost $100 a nite!!! I stayed at Bungalow malu for 80 and that was one of the higher priced places, go on over to Puerto Viejo and you can find anything you want for 60 or less and will be close to the Folks I dove...

I love CR, but the caribe side of diving is in my opinion not worth making a special trip, just to dive...I misposted my trip report in the cheapest CR/Panama dive thread....

First week of May( start of the rainy season) went to CR and went to the Cahuita/Puerto Viejo side of the country. The Caribean vibe was very cool and managed to squeeze in a dive day with the folks at REEF RUNNERS ($90 two tank dive- $70 each day for 2 days). This is a non developed side of CR...

it wasn't very good, I got a better deal booking direct thru Continental Airlines ....507 vs 493 and that was booking option 2 and #3....so really not very good, Mexicana had a better one from Denver than they did too.....

RossandMaureen- the cruise dive operators charge more as a rule and have a set package, to answer your question," no, I do not know", but PVSCUBA on this board seems to have a good reputation and most of the independant ops have never left a diver stranded in PV.
