    Dealing with floaty feet

I'm not familiar with your BC, but you have the right idea in moving your center of mass toward your butt. You might think that the weight of the tank is negligible, but keep in mind that the tank neck, valve, and reg are all located near your head and provide a lever force that pushes your...

    advice on new doubles

How about a rebreather? I have a buddy who dives an Optima, and it is a lot lighter than my double 130s. I'm getting one as soon as a win the lottery. Keep in mind that if your buddy is diving smaller tanks, then gas matching rules will still constrain your dive to the smaller volume...

    Dive-Rite fins?

I personally use jetfins or turtle fins, but some of my cave diving friends really like the DR fins. I can cover distances of a mile or so in the jets using frog kick with no problems, but I swim slow. Mike

    Primary Regulator with a Necklace?

If the octopus is good enough to donate to an OOA diver in a true emergency, then why isn't it good enough as a backup while the primary is recovered? The idea of putting a necklace on the primary is an acknowledgment that the octopus is not readily available as a backup or for an OOA diver...
