It is apparent that you cant read Brad. This is my last post. You are confusing people, including myself by bringing other topics from other threads to this one. On the subject of Tech divers taping there regs and reg hoses for identification purposes ..this was ONE EXAMPLE( go and read it...
Thanking you kindly LD :)
Atomox you are probably right...but i am trying to get other peoples opionions. I didnt value your opinion because you started taking things personally and got a little defensive. I didnt listen to you fully..because you annoy with your attitude and you clearly have...
Brad Brad Brad...you have just repeated what i said above... All this was covered earlier in the post, but thankyou for your contribution.
Also..i have no idea what you are talking about with the water displacement thing. I was pertaining to a ratio of weight to BCD lift. Mass/volume and...
Are you serious, you are going beyond a joke.
Whether i dive dry or wether i dive wet (i feel like a parrot) is of no consiquence as to whether i use a steel pony or an Aluminium pony. The weight i will be carrying AS A WHOLE (ditchable or otherwise) will determine WHAT MATERIAL i decide...
Ok lets say a 15 litre steel tank which would probably be around 8lbs negative when empty and 12kg of lead. Not sure what the stainless steel backplate would weigh but it would be an exact copy of the Halcyon backplate if not the real thing. Does anyone know roughly how much that sort of...
lol you win Brad.
But i wasnt asking you, i was telling you, that for the purposes of my question it makes no odds wether i am diving dry or wet. If i wanted such exact answers which happen also to be beside the subject then i would have mentioned that.
I repeat myself for the last time...
For Atomox , i dive dry, but never mentioned it because it is beside the point. You dont agree with pony bottles...neither does the DIR philosphy (thats were i drew the simalarity). Did i say you represented DIR? Futher i didnt say it had turned into a DIR debate i said it was going that...
Oh dear this has turned into a DIR debate by the looks of things : /
Atomox..like i said they have saved lives. Your saying that better thought and preparation would prevent the use of a pony. We are humans (as if i needed to point THAT out) and by definition WILL make mistakes. So what your...
Ok Thanks Rick
Its just that i have seen a few photographs of people in there DIR setup and often it looks like the regulator is lopsided in there mouth, thought maybe that could be an issue.
Thx for the replies guys....keep em coming plz :)
By the way i ment ...is the long hose uncomfortable for the JAW...does it pull because of a relatively small loop made by the hose?
Just lately i have been considering getting my TX100 converted to a 5-7 ft hose and simerlarly , getting the hose on my backup regulator shortened so i can wear it on a bungee around my neck.
So a question for you long hose users out there. Isnt it uncomfortable wearing the long hose curled...
If my pony got tangled or caught up?
Well im sorry but theres very little chance at all of that happening if its on my back attached to a single tank. Therefore wether it is steel in this situation makes no odds.
"Your buddy is your redundant air source" are you joking Don? i hope so. A...
No sorry DD i dont have the option to download the info to a PC. The reason i experienced DCI is the fact that i had 2 uncontrolled ascents during one weekend and alcohol was also involved. To assume that i am more susceptible to DCI than any other person isnt very good reasoning considering all...
Why would i be giving my pony to my buddy??
Every diver i have seen using a pony bottle (and thats alot of divers) has it back mounted via tank straps/adapter. Where else are you suggesting that i should put my pony.
I dont want it dangeling down off my thigh or under my arm for lots of...
Well said, but my computer wouldnt have to allow for cold conditions because i am aclimatised to diving in near freezing temperatures. From what i have read about this you should only plan dives deeper than actual when it is cold only if you are not used to the cold conditions. The word "cold"...
Thanks detroit diver but i know exactly how to work out how much weight i have, i just wondered if there was a mathematical formula to give a *rough* estimation of how much lift is reguired for a said quantity of weight.
