    Adding ditchable weights to BCD

If the BCD has a 2" waist strap, any tech weight pocket will fit on them. Something like this: Tecline Vertical Weight Pocket Right Scuba Tech Diving Buy and Sales in Gidive Store (there's also a "Left" one with a D-ring on it).

    Scubapro Yulex vs. Henderson Greenprene

How much weight do you use with other suits? And did you experience less compression at depth as Scubapro claims? By the way, I am not calling Scubapro out, I'm just very much interested in this suit and you're the first one who actually dove it...

Looking for help with my first gear purchase.

I am not really fat (90 kg @ 182 cm), but I run hot too. In fact, I am far more likely to get uncomfortably overheated than cold. Until a month ago, I have been diving in wetsuits in water temperatures from 7 C and up (45 F). I started out with a 7mm semidry, but I switched to the 6mm Mares Seal...

What went wrong on your dive today/recently? And what did you learn?

I had to look that one up... an 'octo' that leaks and causes 'inflation' problems... Didn't know there was such a thing where a secondary second stage and inflator were combined. Lessons learned: There actually is such a thing :)

What went wrong on your dive today/recently? And what did you learn?

My big learnings are from yesterday. First dive in my new drysuit (in fact, my first dive in a drysuit in 4 years). Nothing really 'went wrong', but I did learn quite a few things: Lessons learned: The neck seal is tight. So tight it got really uncomfortable at one point. Not sure if the seal...

Question Stretch &/or Trim Latex Neck Seal?

Did you try to trim your neck down instead of the seal? ;)

    My drysuit arrived today

There definitely were other stress factors as well. That's why I am not trimming the seal down just yet. Let's see how the rest develops (better diving, fewer stress factors). Trimming the seal down is always a possibility, but a last resort, because I think the stress factors had the upper hand...

    My drysuit arrived today

Yeah trimming would be a last resort. I am not a that trimming point yet haha

    My drysuit arrived today

Yes, that's one of the reasons why I got a silicone seal. Will be fine, with or without trimming.

    My drysuit arrived today

So... I got to try my new drysuit for the first time today. The good news: it fits very well, donning and doffing is no problem at all (I thought I would struggle more with the neck seal), although the metal zipper needs some proper lubrication - as expected. And the most important thing: I...

Mares Quad Air - Still relevant or past it’s prime?

I think you mean the Sirius?

How do I pick complete package?

I would do it this way: find out what kind of diving you will be doing, find out what kind of gear you need for that (with help from the members here and divers near you), and then go shopping (online or local). I have always found my local dive shops limited in what they carry (it might not be...

Avanti Quattro + vs X-Stream vs RK3 vs Supernova - help me choose my next fins

@Hippopotamus I realize my questioning your body position and the translation of that to fin choice triggered this entire discussion. I apologize. Looking past the buoyancy factor, back to the question at hand: which fins? There are a few requirements, in your specific case: enough power...

Membrane drysuits for hard use - what do people recommend?

Is it as strong as other suits? It seems very flexible, making me think it's also a fair bit thinner than many other neoprene dry suits. Would you use this for everyday abuse in an environment where sharp edges and dirty waters are a constant factor? Personally, I would go for something tougher...

Apeks - XTX 50 / DST tec set not a good idea?

Anyway, if you look for doubles regulator sets, you might find better deals than if you try to piece one long hose setup together from loose parts.

Apeks - XTX 50 / DST tec set not a good idea?

The price on that website changes if you change the country you want it delivered (I changed it to US, since that's what it says on your profile - that's when I got 600).

Apeks - XTX 50 / DST tec set not a good idea?

It is a very popular regulator. A single tank set is usually sold not with a long hose, but in an octo configuation OR as a doubles-setup with two first stages. It's not that there's something wrong with these regulators. In fact, If I do a quick search for DS4+XTX50 doubles set, I get this...

    Issues with Suunto?

The algorithm lock that could kick in mid-dive (not giving you any deco information to finish that dive) is why I sold my own Eon Core. If that would only happen after violating a decompression stop longer than 3 minutes - that would be acceptable at this point in my diving career, since I would...

Avanti Quattro + vs X-Stream vs RK3 vs Supernova - help me choose my next fins

Here's a video that compares at least the Avanti Quattro + and the X-stream. The X-streams are not very efficient...

I do too. That's 'just' a bonus, though.
