Good morning everyone
I am considering some used kits based on Sony RX100 V/VA and Nauticam housing .
I found a couple where the only difference is the wide lens.
I was wondering if anyone has direct experience and could give me some feedback on the performance/ issues of these two lenses...
This is all very nice and I understand the convenience of an easy dive.
However, we are talking about a 3K€ Housing with the size of a Nauticam housing for a Full Frame.
I look for a used compact camera with a used housing instead. Budget and size on a whole other level.
Yes I guess you are right, it is difficult to average.
If anyone experienced in the field can help me out with an evaluation, please write to me privately.
Thank you
I have tried, but it is not easy. One would have to check each ad to see how long the material for sale has been in use.
I will guess an average depreciation percentage, tell me if you think it would make sense :
-30% for items with one year of life and in good/very good condition.
Would you...
Good morning everyone,
I currently have my eyes open looking for my first underwater photography kit and am evaluating used equipment.
Scrolling through the various ads, I was also checking at the same time the prices of the same equipment but new, so as to understand the savings.
At this...
Update : wandering on line I came across a girl with the Sony RX100 VII who takes exactly the pictures I would like to take. Accompanied by a Wet lens Nauticam and sea&sea strobes.
What can I say, after seeing her photos I am more and more convinced that the RX100 VII may be right for me.
I...
My idea about micro 4:3s came from Internet, so I may have misunderstood certain concepts or not given them the proper weight.
Investing in a compact to begin with has in my opinion the advantage of gaining confidence and experience with photography in general (I have very little of it and...
It is true that I don't plan to take this camera on an airplane, mainly because I don't make overseas diving trips usually. It could happen of course, but those are not the dives I usually do.
However, the fact of having something extremely bulky might need more careful handling. I imagine for...
Thanks!
The wreck was the SS VIS
I take this opportunity because I believe that the images of the wreck you find at that link were taken with a Sony A6xxx in natural light (I know who took them and at that time I think he had that camera).
Excuse my repetitiveness, I wonder if those same...
Very clear, thank you.
Speaking instead of light and shadow recovery in post, in your opinion is there much difference between a file generated from a compact and one from an APSC?
The fact that Backscatter is somehow the only one to push the E-M10 so much gave me some doubts and I came to the same conclusions.
Maybe we leave out the used cameras and just talk about the new ones. The question I ask myself as an electronics and technology enthusiast in general is whether...
Thank you Wolfgang.
What you told me was one of the scenarios I considered, which is to start from a compact, and once I practice and better understand what I need, then I will think about investing in a more focused way, maybe with a bigger budget.
Maybe investing a bit more in quality strobes...
Thank you for your feedback.
So you wouldn't really consider compacts.
I'll try to give an example to see what the performance of a compact and an APSC might be.
Let's imagine a wreck in the sea at a depth of 60 meters, with decent visibility, but that is certainly not that of a tropical sea...
I find your considerations certainly fair for your use.
My case, however, is different from yours, and I fear the choice of sensor may have greater relevance.
I am not a diver who does 3-4 dives a day for a week in tropical areas overseas.
I'm more of a lake and deep wreck diver in places I can...
Good morning everyone
I should buy my first underwater photography kit and I am very undecided about the camera, or rather the size of the sensor.
I hope someone with more experience can advise me even though I wrote a poem below!
A few premises that I feel it is essential to list :
-...
