We are planning a trip (probably 3-4 weeks long) in Asia in August. Hubbie has had leg issues so would like to avoid kicking against the current. Would love recommendation on any destination with not much current. We are into muck diving so may check out Lembeh but anywhere else?
Hi all,
Husband suffered achilles tendon tear last year which we think was a build up of problems from finning against current in R4 (we dove for 3 weeks). Now he has tendinitis in his ankle.
He probably needs to do some exercise to strengthen certain muscles, but meanwhile we are looking for...
Is it diving or snorkel trip? We were in South Africa last year for it and both wore 5mm (mine is old so is effectively 3mm). The coldest part was getting into the suit in the morning so I don't think I would have enjoyed getting into 7mm. I don't remeber getting cold in the water as you're too...
Has anyone had any luck with rechargeable battery for Garmin T1? I'm not sure if it's because it's higher voltage but the rechargeable battery won't work at all even fully charged.
Re Komodo recommend also Scubajunkie, who has landbased operation but within the park so a bit closer to the dive sites and has that remoteness feel rather than being in the mess of LBJ.
Our homestay power cut out after 10ish and we were very jealous of the couple who had battery operated fan.
We also bought the gadget that supposedly makes mosquito bites better through application of heat. Not tested yet.
I took Theracell (rechargeable version, not the butane one) and felt it...
I'm planning to work remotely early next year (somewhere Jan to March) and would like to be somewhere we can dive on weekends.
Husband has leg issues at the moment so it would need to be pretty easy diving ideally without too much current. In addition we would need reasonable and reliable...
Just wanted to say we spent a week with Sardine Run South Africa (Blue Ocean Dive Resort) doing exactly this. The itinerary was:
Day 1: pick up from airport (we were picked up from Durban) and transfer to Aliwal Shoal
Day 2: 3 dives in Aliwal Shoal
Day 3: 1 dive in Aliwal Shoal then 5 hour...
Hi all,
Unfortunately my Thermalution batteries' wires have broken as pictured. Is there any way of repairing (or have someone repair) the rubber covering for the wire? I'm a little nervous about having potentially exposed electric wiring under water!
I didn't have this problem but I do have a soft back BCD (Zeagle express tech). perhaps the extra padding is pushing the red plastic further into your back?
Thank you. It turns out that one of the o-rings on the spool was a bit dodgy. I've replaced it with the one from the flow restrictor and it seems to be working fine.
Hi all,
My husband's T1 is leaking air and (I'm not sure if it's related) not connecting very well with the dive computer.
I seem to remember someone saying that the o-ring should be removed (the one visible below) if the transmitter is connected to an extension hose for seal. The o-ring...
Hi all,
We need to be in SA for a friend's birthday in July so would like to add on a sardine run dive while there. We are considering Sardine Run South Africa | Bookings Available for 2023 Sardine Run. We are pretty experienced (600+ and 700+) and have dived in Galapagos before so have had...
My husband purchased Garmin Mk2i with transmitter recently. After about 40 dives, during our dive trip in Asia, it started showing improbable depth - one time over 2000 ft. Even after reset it kept on recording wrong depth and he has had to rent a computer. Garmin is sending a replacement...
