    Age, Health, Certification and Trim

I asked for more details and consequences for diving beyond 30 ft and was told I might experience disorientation, key word might. At any rate I will definitely test the possibility.

    Age, Health, Certification and Trim

I'm in class, taking a break until clearance from my physician. Interesting note is acupuncture helped remove water from behind my eardrum. Ear nose throat appointment 08/19. If it continues my scuba days are over.

    Age, Health, Certification and Trim

Certification continues to elude me as of now standing water behind my eardrum will not drain. I've seen a doctor and have taken a decongestant with no relief. I see an ear, nose throat specialist next week, hopefully I can return to the certification process. In the pool when I am 12 ft under...

    OW failure, advice?

Worth considering regarding ear squeeze. My doctor prescribed fluticasone nasal spray. Equalizing ear pressure did not work for me until I started taking fluticasone that helped drain upper sinus congestion. It is perfectly safe diving.

    Older guy Certification

My certification is at a standstill for lack of contained water space. The dive shop I am affiliated with has cancelled training until a suitable pool location can be found. This is another delay of many since I started June 2020 but I will be worth everything I've been through to experience...

    Older guy Certification

I went ahead and purchased a Bare Trilam Pro Dry custom fitted that will be ready the first of November. The shop I bought the dry suit from originally tried to sell me a higher grade and more expensive drysuit I could not afford. I asked about the Trilam Pro dry and to my pleasant surprise they...

    Older guy Certification

I am an older guy, started late in life, employment and education. At any rate, I've got the scuba bug and I am not willing to stop until poor health forces me to stop. I have a lot invested financially, scuba gear, time and effort. In a weird sort of way I want buy a used drysuit from my store...

Haven't settled on the right BC

Does anybody have experience using a Hollis 200 HD? What can you tell me about it?

Haven't settled on the right BC

Finding the right Bc is problem especially should I run out of options. The Hollis 200 is nice, however, the one I used was a rental and did not have a crotch belt. The results were unfavorable due to filling BC to the max and being pushed forward face and head in water slightly below the...

Haven't settled on the right BC

I'm using a Hollis 200 HD XL, that does not have a crotch strap. I don't know if it was removed or if the XL comes standard w/o a crotch strap? Can someone elaborate about the missing crotch strap on the XL Hollis 200 HD? I had difficulty using Hollis 200 HD BC getting and staying trim on the...

Haven't settled on the right BC

I'll experiment with the Hollis 200 HD next week by not putting so much air in it.. Last night was trial and error regarding the amount of weight needed and plus it was my first time diving in that particular BC. I noticed the large size has a crotch belt but the XL did not?

Haven't settled on the right BC

It's an SDI sponsorship and I'm getting ow, dry suit and Nitrox computer certification all at once. I was using 28 lbs weights last night to get to the bottom of the pool. It seems like a lot of weight, I wonder if stomach and breast reduction would mean less added weight to get to get below...

Haven't settled on the right BC

I had an Aqualung Axiom XL that was determined to big for me, (cylinder weight shift was not able tighten BC to prevent from shifting) Last night I tried a Hollis 200 HD XL, however, at the surface the back inflate BC did not provide adequate lift to keep head above water, and it pushed my...

    Brand Advice for BCD/Regulators/Tanks?

What style Zeagle BC were you using? I just bought a Zeagle Ranger which is noted for being bulky and yes I agree with you about the weight pockets. As far as the Zeagle Ranger size and bulkiness, the review I read reported the Ranger not good for traveling because of its size...

First time using Bare Aqua-Trek Pro 1 last week experienced strong leg squeeze. How do i get air to dry suit legs offset leg squeeze? The Aqua-Trek dry suit size was 3XL, dry suit legs were long which made leg material to overlap and bunch up around my legs. How do I alleviate lack of air...
