Additionally, how's the safety standard?
My own cursory research seems to indicate it's pretty good but wondering if anyone got any anti-rec for any of the dive shop?
Hi The Ruttmeister! just wondering if you ended up diving anywhere in Singapore and wouldn't mind sharing the experience ? :)
I'll have a trip coming up shortly and planing to do some dives as well!
Thanks in advance!
I've seen a few people wearing fins that look like these:
What's the advantage of these? (other than that they're small and portable)
Are they good for a specific style of kicks?
Hi, all, thanks for your responses!
Update:
Couldn't get hold of my doctor over the weekend and the phone line to the `Mass. Eye and Ear Infirmary ` has gone unanswered and they encourage me to call 911 if emergency. :sigh: will keep trying again today.
Anyway, today (Monday Aug 30), the...
Not anymore :D I'm now at 36 dives! :yeahbaby: (clocked in 13 dives in those 5 days)
What about the pressure (I think) I feel on my chest/back right now?
It's been warm the last 5 days so I'd been diving two to three tanks every day for 5 days (60-70 feet max). Took a break a whole day yesterday. And now I feel more fatigue than before. Specifically, occasionally I feel like I need to make conscious effort to do deep inhale. Also feel a bit of...
Thanks! I guess that makes sense - it was certainly an ... interesting "discussion" - never seen anythning like that (I mean, honestly, it's just someone posting a photo of a flag )
Anyway, the guy I was thinking of, we ran into him again yesterday so ... :acclaim:
Anyone got update on this situation? Was the person(s) OK?
(They turned off further comments! :banghead: why??)
The float looked awfully like someone's our group used to hang out with but the guy isn't on FB we just met him regularly the OGB and Back Beach ...
We actually use the flag and its line as a way to find lost buddies - ie., if someone gets separated, they'll go up, find the flag and descend along the line down to the rest of us.
So I'd have to drag the flag whereever I go :)
Well, my concern wasn't much about me sinking :D - with my wetsuit on, I'd float without any problem - high surge or not.
I was mostly concerned about my gear and valueables going down with the boat
Is there any special tip/trick to doing it so the line doesn't entangle to my legs/fins or my face?
When I go in the same direction as the wave, then it's fine because the line will float in front of me, but when I go in any other direction then it often tangle to my face or even my fins.
So the lesson from this is that you should never disassemble your scuba gear on the boat ride? :idk:
Because if it sinks, you just put it on and float - otherwise, you'd lose your stuff since the lifevest is unlikely to be able to support it.
I'm not super convinced that 12lbs is not enough for me. (I've previously asked for advice here since I was over-weighted before and 12 seemed like a sweet spot).
With 14lbs, I kept sinking to the bottom as soon as I stopped kicking. Even if I inhale fully, I barely raised from the bottom.
Hard...
What is the proper check? Hmmm...
Hold a breath with no air in BC and see where you float, yes?
I did that and with 12lbs, I sunk below the surface (about 1 feet below) I can't remove any more weights because I already had slight trouble descending with that weights (previously, I used to dive...
They do - but the 100HP is my tank and I would like to find a way to make it work, as it lasts me longer :D I'd rather stay 1.5 - 2 hours in the water than crawl out and switch tanks half way.
I've done both full and empty actually. When it's full, I sink below the surface - when it's ~800psi...
I have weights in my BC pockets, which sit around my hip - i don't think I can move it much lower because it means the tank will go down too, which makes it hard to frog kick (ie., my calves would hit the bottom of the tank).
Hmm, maybe I could loosen the shoulder strap so the weights go even...
