How does fatigue affect feelings and/or narcosis?

My understanding is that your level of fitness has been tested and is found wanting. A fully nutritional meal consisting of proteins, carbohydrates, minerals, vitamins, sugars. Plus moderate fluid intake. It is not uncommon for me to travel 40 hours to get to a dive site; sleep for a few hours...

Regulator service advice for a beginner

Read as many manuals as you can. Shop A lot of technicians don't have the mechanical aptitude or appetite to be good at servicing regulators. I recently pulled apart a Scubapro MK25 without training, and successfully put it together the first time. When I connected it to my tank it went BOOM...

Any downside in lapse of DAN membership?

Yes, I could have been more specific. All you need is Ambulance cover. But emergency hyperbaric treatment for scuba divers is free for Medicare card holders in Australia. Hyperbaric therapy for individuals is a different matter. I use DiveAssure since it allows several days cover. I never use...

Is there a hydro requirement on bank cylinders?

(Note that a hammer test is not effective on aluminum cylinders.) I specifically talking about smashing indents into the crown as part of the hydro which Luxfer tank manufacturer describes as negligent. Your reference is just some unsubstantiated internet troll. Produce DOT Act for immediate...

How many masks did you go through to find one that works?

I like the frame-less Hollis. Try putting food-grade silicone grease around the lip section. Low volume masks prevent mask squeeze. Black skirting is the best for your eyes.

Is there a hydro requirement on bank cylinders?

I tried to bring up the same subject but was blocked from doing so. I'm glad you brought it to the fore. I think the scuba industry needs to move forward and use QR-coded labels or stickers. Relevant information: previous owner, present owner, in test, work history can be documented on a...

BC Weight pocket balance strategies/neutral buoyancy

It depends on what system keeps them in place. Clips are the best. I leave 4 weights on the belt, and melt down the lead going into each pocket. I've seen a lot of novice divers putting all their weight into the BC to have them fall out in deep water. BCDs like Aqualung. Use a square sardine...

Are zipties used for diving gear just regular zip ties?

Dive Gear Express use to stock low profile zip ties. I preferred them over the normal ones which irritated my lip when using them to strap the mouthpiece. Use any type to secure it. Add superglue to your kit.

What cylinder am I looking at here?

There is a subtle difference between your writing and my writing. Department of Transportation is probably stamped on every tank. We have the same 12.2 litre (12.9 litre for the one in the pic) tank with 2 different tank pressures. 232 and 300 bar. You can work it out in PSI. Divide by 14.7.
