    Diving "Conservative" vs Nitrox

Really? Please read some books. Yes, I dive nitrox on every dive, I have a nitrox blending station on my back 🤣. Your lack of understanding on the topics of DCS, tissue saturation, on gassing and off gassing, decompression theory, et al are a travesty. And yet you try and argue your incorrect...

Question Apart from the purchase price, what are the ongoing maintenance and repair costs of your CCR (excluding consumables)?

Beautifully written post and I couldn’t agree more. It’s really too bad @nadwidny can’t comprehend these concepts. These posts and questions have been discussed for decades, and the short answer for those seeking to justify the purchase of a rebreather is you can’t lol. But that being said...

    Diving "Conservative" vs Nitrox

You’re wrong. There is a big difference between someone feeling BAD and someone feeling tired and/or more fatigued. The fact that you’d even suggest that you’d rather “go into deco” on air rather than using nitrox is self evident that you have no idea what you’re talking about. You’re...

Question Apart from the purchase price, what are the ongoing maintenance and repair costs of your CCR (excluding consumables)?

I know you didn’t ask, but as an aside…just got back from a trip where my gas bill for the whole week of trimix dives including bailout was 550$. That’s diving 10/65… Just a couple of those 300’ dives on OC would have been two times my trip cost. Moral of the story….but the rebreather 🤣

Question Apart from the purchase price, what are the ongoing maintenance and repair costs of your CCR (excluding consumables)?

Yearly? 300ish usd for cells, plus the occasional o-ring. I guess you could round up to include steramine, cleaning supplies, and rebuilding regs. All in all, 300-500$ per year is a fair assessment. Meg ccr for reference. Seth

    Diving "Conservative" vs Nitrox

I really don’t understand how nitrox is the most misunderstood thing in diving. All I can figure is crappy open water training that didn’t lay a proper foundation followed by a crappy nitrox course that didn’t fully explain how things work. 1. Adjusting conservatism in decompression models is...

    Maldives vs seychelles

I was in the Seychelles this past September for my honeymoon and overall it was pretty awful. We were there for almost three weeks and split the trip between Praslin and Mahe. In Praslin, we stayed in an Airbnb, and that was probably the highlight of that island. The host was great and the...

Altitude Diving - Stay at even higher altitude?

I know Santa Rosa well and dive in rock lake regularly. I’ve done numerous dives in the normoxic range and gone over Raton Pass while watching tissue saturation on my computers without any issue. The fact of the matter, is by the time you get out of the water and put your gear away and get on...

Altitude Diving - Stay at even higher altitude?

If you are diving recreationally, you do not need to worry about this, it’s not pertinent at all. There are ample threads on here about completing normoxic (>200 FSW) dives and ascending to elevation soon after without issue. Most recreational divers don’t understand the basics and perpetuate...

    Rental computers and newer divers

My .02, of which you haven't paid for... The shop is renting you equipment, not knowledge. It's up to you, not the shop, to understand how to use the equipment. The entitlement of people who rent equipment and then demand people teach them how to use it is appalling. Not to mention, you can...

To touch or not to touch other diver's gear

If you don’t see the irony in this, you should dive more, read more, and post less.

To touch or not to touch other diver's gear

The egos on this website are more fragile than the caves of Abaco :rofl3:. That being said, I think several things should be considered in this scenario... 1. If you are perusing scubaboard.com you are likely less than 1% of all certified divers. 2. That means that the boat crews out there...

    Sidemount Bailout Config?

With all due respect, I'm not concerned with the non-ccr side mount community. It's complete apples to oranges, which is why I'm soliciting ccr specific information from the rebreather forum. I don't breath down bailout...unless I'm bailing out...I'm only concerned with achieving static tank...
