we're all friends here... let's talk p valves and sensitive bits...

Ahh good to know - someone referred to it as neoprene elsewhere in a thread and I was like...wait a second...

we're all friends here... let's talk p valves and sensitive bits...

Where do you order from? I'm guessing the male end goes on the condom cath and is free flowing (so you can still pee without being hooked up?) and the female end shuts off so no residual liquid comes out when you dc? I have this heavy neoprene hose on my OMS p-valve that says it should accept...

we're all friends here... let's talk p valves and sensitive bits...

Glad to have found this thread. For those using a QD, where are you placing the QD in the line? The ones I got off amazon seal when they are not attached, so unless I'm hooked up to the drysuit I wouldn't be able to pee. I could see this being problematic if I'm installing the condom cath...

One lost off of Deerfield Beach - Florida

Diving in this part of Florida is either wreck or reef. For wreck dives the boat DM ties off the down line and divers descend d/ascend that line. It’s also not uncommon to do hot drops onto wrecks and then drift with the current making an ascent on an SMB line. For reef dives you tow a flag...

    Diving Off Pompano Beach FL

I recently took advantage of the sale price being offered on the Kraken 3500s and hooked them up to my existing stills rig to take the plunge into video. A few wreck dives and some reefs shots and this is the result. All in all the lights worked extremely well. I probably should have sprung...

Death in Cocos from shark attack

This was really unfortunate to hear about and my condolences go to the family and friends of those impacted. I was lucky enough to dive Cocos with the Undersea Hunter group back in 2008. I'm sure they offered the very same level of professionalism and attention to safety with regard to this...

Getting good DSLR video when shooting wide angle

It's already started, haha! I'm trying to work with what I have and make it a gradual progression. Heck, I may hate video all together and go back to shooting stills. I have the 35mm 1.8 that is my goto lens for just about everything, so I may look at getting an appropriate port for that and...

Getting good DSLR video when shooting wide angle

Thanks, this was really helpful! The Tokina doesn't have a filter thread, but it seems you can tape a Magic Filter to the back of the lens and it just so happens I'll be down the street from one of their US dealers on my next trip so I'll give it a shot. The D7000 has custom white balance, and...

Getting good DSLR video when shooting wide angle

Usually when shooting wide angle I use a Tokina 10-17 fisheye. I've seen various articles/guides/tutorials etc that have advocated "just fixing it in post" but in my experience with stills, it's better to implement an in-the-field solution to get the best results before trying to manipulate...

Getting good DSLR video when shooting wide angle

I'm making the transition from shooting still into video. I've decided to take advantage of some of the holiday sales and pickup a set of Kraken 3500s to add to my Nikon D7000. I'm fairly well versed in the principles of still shooting and based on what I've read so far, many of those...

    Utila Recommendations

Hello all! I've spent some time reading past trip reports and recommendations for Utila, and was hoping for some updated information. Some friends I are looking to head to Utila Spring of 2018 to try and catch some sweet whale shark action. I get it's a roll of the dice, but you gotta be in...

    What makes the difference?

I'm looking at getting into UW videography and am seeking some advice. To preface, I've been shooting UW photography for almost as long as I've been diving. I started with a Canon A640 and an Ikelite DS125 and the results were pretty decent. The most important steps I've taken since then...

Closed: GoPro Package: SRP tray, Archon DV11 lights and Flip4 filters

Fantastic videos, just curious - why upgrading to a "proper camera"? What did you find were the shortcomings of this setup that you hope the new (and I'm assuming more expensive) setup will overcome? Reason I ask is I'm looking at getting into UW video. I've shot stills UW for almost as long...

    Where To Next?

I've been fortunate enough to dive in some pretty amazing places all over the world. Recently I've taken to the occasional vacation dive while on a more traditional cruise (Norwegian is great, even for divers!) but am recently getting the itch to go on a dive-centric trip again. My diving...

    Tortola operators

Does anyone know of any operators out of Tortola that are independent of the cruise lines? So far I've only been able to find options through the ship or private full boat charters.

    Suunto D6i $420 OBO

Where did you get the watch originally and do you have any proof of purchase? Reason I ask is I've had two suunto computers fail due to a pressure sensor malfunction. Nice thing is suunto covers them for 5 years but you need original proof of purchase.
