I purchased the AquaLung SeaQuest Malibu BCD brand new from a local dive shop. Has 2 built in weight packs that can be easily pulled out during emergencies on both sides. Dump valves at the top and bottom back. There is also a dive knife I attached to the suit. I used the BCD on about 20...
Princeton Tec Shockwave LED Dive Light Set - $100
I have the large hand held flashlight and the smaller one that attaches to your suit. The box image is to show you the original box and the set that I originally purchased. However, I'm selling all the pieces in the picture of the BLACK...
Hello...
Let first me say... I realize diving is a sport where being fashionable is not much of a priority. Having said that... I still would like something "cute" if at all possible.
I'm looking for a dive coat to wear during my surface intervals without look like a walking potato sack...
Thanks everyone. Looks like the Stanley tool boxes are the way to go. I went to Target today and bought it. I bought the smaller one and it just fits my all my gear minus my snorkle. That is okay since I can easily put that in my backpack.
A couple of follow up questions. Do you carry your...
Hi...
How do you carry your gear when you go on Catalina Express? I'm not used to carrying gear on my back. I use my giant bag with wheels usually. But I think its beyond the size limits for the express.
Are they very strict when it comes to dive bag sizes?
How should I carry my...
Thanks... but, I'm not having problems when clearing my mask. Its usually when I am ascending and looking up at my computer on my wrist that this starts to happen.
Hi all...
I noticed that when I am looking up to the surface I have a tendency to let water go through into my nose. Is this all psychological and lack of focus on just breathing through my mouth or is there some other issue going on?
Thanks!
Hi,
Does anyone know where I can get some wetsuit reusable heading pads? I can't take the cold california waters. I know they are out there but I wanted to see if anyone has used a specific kind/brand. If you love the ones you bought, please let me know which one you got and where you got...
Thanks everyone. The navigation was much easier than I had anticipated. I guess Vet's Park is hard to get it wrong. :) The vis was great starting around 35 ft. I did see lots of camouflaged fishes, nudibranch and I guess a sea cucumber looking thing? It was huge and almost scary! Sorry I...
So I'm having a hard time keeping my safety stops when my AL 80 tank is about 800 PSI and less. I'm literally inverted kicking with all my might just to not pop to the surface. This is getting to be way too much and I'm scared every time I go deep now because I"m afraid if I get too tired I...
Hello,
I have AOW cert but I am having some problems sometimes with my descents and ascents. Its always a big deal and I'm wondering if I should get some extra training one-on-one. Where can I look for such help and how much should I expect to pay?
Thanks!
Hello...
I'm going to be "leading" the navigation for the first time at Vet's Park in Redondo Beach. Its just myself and my buddy so I won't be getting too many people lost! ;) Does anyone have a full proof way to NOT get lost and still get to enjoy some of the views down there?
I know...
Does anyone have any good tips on how to organize their scuba gear out in the open between dives?
I live in an apartment and do not have a nice garage nor do I have a lot of closet space.
So, I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas on storing scuba gear between dives. My dives are a week to...
Thanks... but I'm barely learning to appreciate 20' visability... I think 3' vis would make me shoot right to the surface. The more I read this site.. the more I realize there is so much more underwater.
I appreciate all the commentary and pictures... very interesting. I can...
I did my wreck certification there over the course of 2 days and it was really great. The Yukon is all deep diving (60+ ft). You'll find the boat lying on its side. I definitely recommend getting one of those waterproof maps of the yukon. It really helps with navigating and exploring it...
I was reading a scuba magazine and in one of the articles there was a reference to something called "muck diving". Could someone please enlighten me? Is it an environment or some sort of technique?
Thanks!
