USS Oriskany - Preparing for the inevitable

I know I don't post here much, but I just have to say that it really amuses me when some of you come on here talking about viz of ONLY 30-50ft and slightly cool water being bad conditions. That would be awesome where I dive(Texas Lakes) where viz is usually 3-10ft and three or four days a year...

A drysuit question for the ladies...

You guys are killing me! . Listen y'all, it was all in the name of diving and trying to better the sport for others, really, I swear!

A drysuit question for the ladies...

Very Good friend! I know it sounds funny, and would you believe me if I told you my wife was in the same room? We were all laughing so hard we had big tears streaming down our faces. I said it was just me and her but my wife was in on it to and was the one helping with the glue applications, I...

    Austin Area Trimix Course??

I am in the same boat as you are. I just can't take off work for more than a week or so. I am self employed but I jus can't be away longer than that and I haven't been able to find anyone in Texas who could do it so I was going to probably go to Florida but I would certainly entertain the idea...

A drysuit question for the ladies...

The incontinence pads sound like a good idea that I will certainly tell her about. The one she ordered doesn't cover the entire genital area, it is instead just a little funnel looking thing that goes directly the urethra and is sealed with a gummy substance. There just isn't really enough...

A drysuit question for the ladies...

The shaving cream and razors is funny Tamas:D :D . However, hair is not the problem as she is "Brazilian Style" as they say and slick as a babie's butt. The problem with the external catheter on the female anatomy is simply the shape and design of their naughty bits themselves. I could probably...

A drysuit question for the ladies...

An occaisional dive buddy but lifelong female friend of mine just started diving dry about a month or so ago and will soon be taking an advanced Nitrox and intro to deco class so that she can start making the transition towards technical diving and going out with some of the guys on our...

60 feet how close did you stay to the limit

I think conditions should be taken into consideration more than just what depth are you qualified to go to. I have dove with a LOT of AOW divers who have been to 115-130ft in places like Cozumel and Belize in the warm gin clear water, but I have seen those same divers scared to death at 50ft in...

    Eating and Drinking While Underwater

If you are talking about sex, let me just say that water isn't a good lubricant!

    Does One Exist?

EMT shears work great for monofilament line. I carry a pair on my left side chest D-ring. All the line cutters I've tried haven't worked very well. The bigger problem where I dive are the super-lines like SpiderWire and FireLine, but even they are easily handled with EMT shears.

Solo Dive on the “Spiegle Grove” on a jet ski!!!

I own two boats that I can dive off of but occaisionally my old dive buddy and I would dive from our Seadoos. Actually we did it a lot. Having said that, I wouldn't do it in the open ocean. Heck I wouldn't even do it on a busy weekend at the lake. One of the places we would dive from the SeaDoos...

Always remember that people can be very unpredictable when the SHTF, and although you think you know how your buddy would respond if a worst case scenerio should occur, br prepared for ANYTHING!!!!

    Angled DIN Valves...Good,Bad or Ugly???

While diving how could a valve possibly get hot enough to cause combustion?????

    Angled DIN Valves...Good,Bad or Ugly???

Thanks for the info guys. The only reason I asked about the Genesis DIN valves and manifold is because of the apparent quality of their yoke valves which are the nicest looking yokes I have seen or used and I was considering purchasing their manifold and valves to switch over to DIN for that...

    Angled DIN Valves...Good,Bad or Ugly???

In another thread a few days ago I was asking about DIN valves and manifolds made by Genesis. I was very impressed with the quality and construction of their yoke valves as they seem to be superior to the others I have owned and seen. I was asking about their DIN valves and manifolds because I...

    Halcyon or Diverite manifold?

What about Genesis manifolds? I am switching all of my tanks over to DIN valves and I really like the way my Genesis yokes are made, they appear to be much nicer than the others I've seen. I have only been diving doubles for a couple of years and I have been using a yoke manifold(I know, I know...

Who makes the nicest DIN Valves?

What about manifolds with ISO? I have heard the Halcyon stuff is nice. I will check out the Thermo stuff, thanks for the reply. If anyone knows if Genisis makes manifolds and or DIN valves and where they can be seen or bought I would really like to check them out as well. If they make other...

Who makes the nicest DIN Valves?

I am in the process of switching all of my tanks over to DIN valves and I would like a little input from the board members here as to who makes the nicest ones. On my Catalina alum 80s I currently have Genisis yoke valves and they are very nice and appear much better made than my other Sherwood...

    Dive type poll

I mostly dive lakes but about 90% of my dives are done from a boat, 5% from SeaDoos, and the other 5% are shore dives. The only time I shore dive is when I am diving a locale where boats are not allowed.
