    Cabo San Lucas dive sites

Hello! My husband and I just booked our trip to Cabo San Lucas next week. We will be doing a couple of dive days. Would appreciate if you can recommend must go-to dive sites. So far we are thinking of doing 1-2 days locally and Gordo banks. Also, how’s the water temperature mid-December? Would a...

Sharing my recent experience with skin bends/skin decompression illness

Hello forum members, I just wanted to share my recent experience with skin bends, which I did not know existed until now. I recently went on a dive trip to Roatan. We had shallow dives for the most part 30~50 feet, always had surface intervals for about one hour, and always did the three minute...

Hello divers, my husband and I are planning our Roatan dive trip and we are having the most difficult time choosing a dive shop so any insight would be appreciated. We have narrowed down our choices to three dive shops based on proximity to our hotel - Coconut tree divers, Sun divers, Roatan...

Panic attack underwater after slight exertion (feeling out of breath)

To think back on the incident, I think I was breathing in deeper and longer than exhaling because I felt out of breath which probably exacerbated things quickly...

Panic attack underwater after slight exertion (feeling out of breath)

You mean purging the regulator while The regulator is in my mouth? Would I be inhaling at the same time?

Panic attack underwater after slight exertion (feeling out of breath)

Thank you everyone for your comments. I had never heard of carbon dioxide buildup before but I think that is what caused my panic attack. My regulator was doing a superb job :D I found this paper that talks exactly about what I experienced and carbon dioxide buildup. ”Our diver spent the...

Panic attack underwater after slight exertion (feeling out of breath)

I know there are several threads on the subject of panic attack but wondering if anyone else has this specific problem that I have. I have over 100 dives and feel pretty comfortable underwater. There was one incident where I had to swim against a strong current and I got out of breath very fast...

    Purple urchins, the final word.

Surprised to find this thread after diving point lobos yesterday. The middle reef area near the worm patch was infested with small purple urchin. They were literally everywhere - on the rocks, kelp, ground. Sharing some photos here.

Jan 2021, help me come up with a Maui itinerary?

We just got back from diving with Lahaina divers. Water was warm (3mm) and visibility was amazing at molokini. Mala pier/turtle reef was amazing too, there is a turtle cleaning station there so we saw 4-5 turtles. We also saw some whales and their blowholes from far away. Enjoy!

Monterey conditions. (let's keep it going )

I did two dives at breakwater (San Carlos beach) on Sunday (10/11) with @BLee88. Water was pretty calm and viz was about 10-15 feet the first dive around 9;30am and about 5feet the second dive around 11:30am. Water temperature was 52 at the bottom. There were tons of jellyfish throughout the...

    Gloves for Monterey, CA?

I have 3mm Bare celliant infrared gloves. They are a bit pricy but worth every penny. I didn’t realize how warm they were until I took them off in the water and my fingers were almost instantly numb. I think with 5mm you will lose a lot of dexterity.

    June Key Largo Diving

Went diving in the Keys with Rainbow Reef this past month. The weather was hot, the water was hot and calm in French reef and Molasses reef except for USSC Duane site, although I heard that the waters are often choppy over there. Saw some amazing schools of snapper, parrot fish, groupers, rays...

    Hello from NorCal

Greetings fellow divers. I got my OW and AOW in the Philippines and prefer warm waters but my buddy has been pressuring me to do some cold dives. As much as I would love to explore the underwaters of NorCal I think I would need to get drysuit certified for that...Anyhow happy to become part of...
