No sync to cloud anymore Shearwater app

Thank you @ShearwaterJay and @Boarderguy for your replies and ideas. No I don't have an error, the app is just trying to sync but never succeeds. I had it running for approximately an hour. Yes I upgraded to this latest update. Sadly this didn't fix the issue. Thank you @attack33 for...

No sync to cloud anymore Shearwater app

Hi all, The Shearwater app on my android phone is not syncing anymore with the cloud. I have used it for a couple of years now. It says I'm online and then shows that it's trying to sync but it never succeeds. I have the app installed on my tablet as well and that one syncs without a problem. I...

    Refurbish Suex battery

Thanks! Expanding the burntime of the scooter is very tempting at the moment so I'm looking into fitting more cells in a lighter canister. I must say Suex did a pretty decent job building it, fitting everything in a solid compact pack.

    equipment logbook suggestions

I log dates and equipment with remarks in one single tab. Create a table with it so you can filter them easily if you need a better overview of a single piece of equipment.

How many cylinders do you own?

Me and my wife own 4 sets of steel twin 12 liter tanks and 2 10 liter tanks. I don't plan to buy many more tanks. It costs money to keep tanks in hydro. If I buy new tanks I will sell others too.

    Buddycheck

I'm going through my complete "GUE EDGE" procedure for every dive. So that's an full head to toe equipment check including a dive plan that discusses things like time, depth, gas and surroundings. The times that I shorten this are rare and I'll check the vital stuff as a minimal besides a basic...

Cave Instructor Recommendations in Quintana Roo

For a dive shop I had a great time at Zero Gravity this year. I received one day of my cave 1 training from Laszlo Cseh, he and his wife moved from Hungary to Mexico. I found him to be relaxed in his behaviour but pretty strict in how he wanted us to operate. I received the remainder of my...

    Gear Purchase from European Website

Being a diver from the Netherlands maybe I can clear up some things. VAT If a shop in the Netherlands that caters to consumers and not to companies the VAT must be included in the price that is listed. Different threads There has been a directive in the EU in 2002 about using different threads...

    Regulators for doubles

I'm running cdx5's from oceanic. They have the same port lay-out as the ds4's. It's working for me without issues. I am using a miflex hose on the backup reg, but I might switch to a rubber hose in the future. If I would be running a tight budget I'd be more than happy tot simply buy a second DS4.

Twin Cylinder Wing Move to Donut

I think the main advantage of a horseshoe is that you can compensate for heavy equipment on one side. You can trap more air more easily and keep it there. That's also the downside. If you have air trapped it is more work to get it out if you only have a dumpvalve on one side. With practice it...

    Canon 450D with ikelite 200FL driving fiber strobes (S&S YS-01 YS-02).

Indeed. If you don't mind fiddling around to get it working it will function, it's not as clean and user friendly as the finished products from say ikelite themselves but it did work. Tuesday I'll be back home I'll see if I can find pictures and details of it to give you an idea. Send me a PM if...

    Canon 450D with ikelite 200FL driving fiber strobes (S&S YS-01 YS-02).

I used a 400D with a fibre strobe. With just the camera in the housing I popped the flash which would extend enough for it to function. I made a paper reflector to stick underneath it and it reflected upwards. Only then did I place the lens and the port. An inon fibre holder sticker on the...

    "The Best." Oxygen Analyzer?

I rely on the expertise of my LDS, I check with their equipment and before screwing on a first stage I check with an el cheapo analyser. You say you dive at remote locations but do you fill your tanks at unknown and remote locations too?

The sad plight of the middle aged

Buy a shell suit dry suit. They're way to expensive to replace. That's keeping me in check  I'm wondering how this phenomenon apparently doesn't apply to my slightly younger friends for years. It's pretty annoying to say the least. They never buy shrinking clothing... But then again they...

how to neatly fold up a backplate webbing for travel/storage

I don't actually fold them neatly. I put it somewhere in the top of the case with the webbing down... Almost toss it in. I always have room to spare and will hit the weight limit before the case is full. I'm not so sure about moving my d rings. They make my system what it is, where equipment is...

    Questions about twinsets.

Hi @Scuba_Nick27 since you're looking into technical diving and to me seem unsure what to choose I'll share my thoughts about it in general. I view equipment in technical and cave diving to be purpose driven. I think setting a course for yourself and plan what you want to achieve helps in...
