I would start with checking the belt for wear and tension and as @Curious_George said clean up the pulleys a bit. If belt is slipping replace.
Also agree with him re air intake.
@iain/hsm hope this answers your questions.
Taken using an hand held infra red temperature gun, holding it as close to each of the stages as possible. Externally obviously. I took the maximum temperature off approximately 10 readings (they were all pretty close).
In terms of point, I assume...
Thanks @rsingler ! I like your idea and if having trouble in the future will use it. I have not yet ordered a service kit (I should though). To give you a bit more of an update, there was IP creep in the regulator until the second stage started freeflowing (need a new seat). I took the old seat...
Late reply I know.
1st = 60C = 140F
2nd = 90C = 194F
3rd = 93C = 199F
4th = 76C = 168F
After it was warmed up. My 4th stage needs replacement (takes 35 mins to fill a normal tank) so it is not pumping as fast as it should be. I received the replacement 4th stage in the post yesterday, but...
Thanks @gumbumgum and @SubseaSports for the responses. Very useful. Especially the instructions and IP at tank pressure of 200 bar.
@SubseaSports I am not planning on modifying the spring. It is clear that the seat needs to be replaced in the 1st stage, I was just wondering hypothetically how...
Thanks @inka .I will check out the link.
This is definitely not one of them. Just a spring inside. Apart from chopping down the spring, is there a way to decrease the IP if there are no shims? I was thinking of doing this before I worked out it needed a service, but seemed drastic. Question is...
Thank you @SubseaSports
The piston setup is very simple, which is good news. I was wondering if there is any way to adjust the first stage, to change the IP, but I can't see any way to do it.
Would this service kit be compatible?

There are...
Good afternoon regulator experts.
My Beuchat regulator has been free flowing a bit. Due to IP creep (confirmed by an IP gage). It needs a service. It is super simple on the inside, just a spring, piston and seat. I have already taken it apart, cleaned all the salt and gunk out. It needs a new...
Hi @pizzajohn.
I have been using the same ratio to the purchased filter pack as well. I marked the filter on the outside where the carbon and 13X comes up to (as well as the felt pads and springs). I just fill to the approximate same level. I don't use hopcalite as I run an electric motor.
I...
The Coltri filters I purchased also have a moisture indicator in the filter. They turn from Blue to Pink when the moisture level is too high.
I run an electric motor and do not have filters with CO catalyst. I do have a CO tester which I test the tanks with though. I make sure my source of air...
Good afternoon wise folk of ScubaBoard. I have two questions surrounding filtration for my Coltri MCH6.
I have the 13X and carbon to perform a filter re-pack. I initially was planning on using similar ratios to the existing filter (1 part carbon, 2 parts 13X). But looking at the...
Thanks @tbone1004 and @rjack321 . I will have a read of how to rejuvenate and look at an oversized air intake.
In terms of checking Interstate pressure, how does one do that on an MCH6? The only gauge is the pressure gauge at the top of the moisture separator.
Good afternoon,
A few more questions after getting my MCH-6 to run ok and pump a few tanks. Thanks for all the advice previously, has made me feel a lot better about using it properly.
How to make MCH 6 less noisy? Thought of putting it on a rubber mat and putting rubber washers on either...
Thanks for all the advice, I do appreciate it. I have now located the user manual and am having a good read. I cannot see anything about the duty cycle and cool down of the compressor, but, don't think I will be redlining it anyways.
I did look at the filtertechs site but the postage is a bit...
@SurfLung Thanks for the advice. I have been running it a garage with little wind, but another fan is something I have been thinking about.
It was the old motor which could not handle the load. It got really hot and also slowed down when the pressure was starting to build up. There is no...
@tbone1004 Thanks! I did not think of the lubrication impacts when slowing it all down. I thought it would be ok to slow it down based that one of the Coltri MCH6 compressors comes with that sized pulley. But upon looking at it further the one which comes with a 60mm pulley is a 60Hz motor...
