    harness mount for shearwater peregrine

Good idea, but then I'd need to make a pocket to attach to the harness of my backplate/wing

    harness mount for shearwater peregrine

I currently mount my backup computer (a Hollis TX-1) in a boot on my harness. This keeps down the clutter on my wrists. I'm thinking about options for mounting a (second) peregrine in the same way to give it a little protection as gear is hauled in and out of boats. The only commercial boot I'm...

Mares Puck 4 runs Buhlmann with GF

Currently on sale for CAD400 at Dive Computers Archives. At that price IMHO worth considering for a backup computer to my peregrine. The deep6 excursion is definitely nicer, but with shipping and exchange that works out to be more like CAD540. On the other hand, I already have one backup...

    Peregrine charging

I have two, and they both seem good for holding a charge. The second I've only had for a month or so, but it's still at 3.97 volts after mostly idling for that month.

Ratio Dive Computers Announces New iX3M 2!! Our Best Dive Computer yet!

At the risk of In the traditional derailing, I would argue that SurfGF can actually be more conservative if used right. In particular while NDL will drop rise precipitously if you rise 10ft, SurfGF does not change that much. So you have some idea that you are pretty heavily loaded, even if the...

    Do you use TTL?

I shot TTL for a few years with 2 x Sea&Sea YS01. I did find a fair number of misfires, where the strobes would fire late or fire full-on. Lately I have switched to manual. It's a trade off as far as how many keepers I get. I do miss some changing light/subjects, but it is much more predictable...

    unstick paralenz rotary switch?

Here is the "finished" repair. I used some "PC-11" marine epoxy I had in my basement. Either I mixed the wrong proportions (highly likely) or the hardener lost some oomph in the several decades it sat in my basement, but it seemed to harden eventually (4 days vs the promised 30 minutes). I put...

    Belize Aggressor IV mooring breaks

The last time I was on that boat (something like a year ago), there were two Captains. So I doubt that is what is going on.

    unstick paralenz rotary switch?

yes, two of mine were essentially all rust, and a little prodding with a dental pick poked a hole through, then I just worked my way around the hole.

    unstick paralenz rotary switch?

They are pretty delicate, but yeah, still have 97 left after breaking one and using two . Not 100% sure how I broke the one, I had it wedged under the (not yet removed) partially rusted out magnet.

    unstick paralenz rotary switch?

these are the magnets I am using: www.amazon.ca/kkhouse-Circular-Magnets-Neodymium-Permanent/dp/B096G9JN3X/ (link edited to avoid whatever this board does to amazon links)

    unstick paralenz rotary switch?

Update: replaced two of the rusted out magnets with 4mm x 1mm "neodymium" magnets from amazon. Currently held in the plastic with duct tape, but the camera seems to switch smoothly between all modes. I am thinking I should try a drop of epoxy around the magnet to hold it in and waterproof it a...

    Backup computer

Yep, indeed it is. Tempting, but the shipping to Canada eats most of the savings for me.

    unstick paralenz rotary switch?

The hole where the magnet was looks about 5mm in diameter, and the holder about 1.75mm thick. Maybe a 5mm x 1mm thick flat magnet work work? if the magnets have to be curved that sounds pretty hard to me.

Cargo Ship hijacked in Red Sea near Yemen

FWIW, I did also post about Sudan before my last trip to Red Sea (which went down to about 150 km from Sudan).
