Yes, been to the "Good Egg". Wife is a chef on the Island. Let me know when you might be around. Pretty slow here due to social distancing for a while. Maybe in the spring things will open up some. We have been diving in pairs while gearing up apart until just before going in the water.
I live on Bainbridge in Puget Sound, we have a couple of great shore dive sites right on the island. Point Whitney on the Hood Canal is an interesting dive site nearby. I have a dozen dives on my new drysuit and would be happy to plan more. I'm safety conscious as you are and interested in some...
I use about 1:10 mix of baby shampoo and water in a mist bottle. Mist a little inside the seals before sliding on or mist hands just before taking the drysuit off. Hands just slip right through and they are clean!
I live on Bainbridge and use Exotic Aquatics as the LDS. They are diving now but with a limited schedule. There are a few good dive sites nearby such as Rockaway Beach. Contact them for info.
Our only diving experience was with Dive Experience in Christiansted. My stepson did his OW training with them and we did some boat diving on the reefs. Was a great experience. St Croix is small enough that with a rental car you can go anywhere. Lots to see and do. Have not been there since the...
Thanks for the tip Marie, I will check out Sweet Bottom. I have not done the shore dive at Frederiksted Pier yet. My wife's parents were married in St. Croix and have had a condo there for almost 40 years.
Already completed OW and Dry Suit with the local dive shop. During the lockdown I have completed all the book work for Peak Buoyancy and Advanced Open Water. Hearing we may be able to get in the water next week. Hopefully we can all get wet soon.
When I purchased my Aqualung drysuit I was told that Si Tech makes the SLT system. The neck is the same as quick neck and the wrists are the Si Tech ovals.
Looking at something like this set up for my Hero 7. Has two lights. Anyone have experience using a goodman type handle with GoPro? Wondering if it is much more difficult to hold steady as opposed to the two handle design tray.
My mask has a fairly strong prescription built in. I find it best while suiting up to put the mask on when I take the glasses off. I leave the mask on throughout checks, entry, dive, exit. On shore dives I take it off when I'm back at the vehicle and can put on my glasses. The mask fits and I...
No experience with the O3 but I do have a fairly new Fusion Aircore. Try one on, it is a lot nicer than the drycore. Easier to don and doff, zippers instead of velcro to hold the skin to the core. It will be familiar to dive and an improved model. If you try the O3 please review.
Recently went to a 42" flex hose under the arm for my second stage while rec diving. Added the 110° swivel for comfort and hose routes nicely. No issues with finding the dry suit inflate button. Easier to share my primary when compared with the short rubber hose that came with the regulator...
It took about 8 weeks for mine to come in. It is a great suit. and I really like the Evo 4 boots for shore diving. Looking like we won't be able to get in the water here until last week of April at the earliest. LDS closed and I don't have access to tanks or air. I'm thinking about just using...
Neighbor on the ranch next to us where I grew up converted his truck to run on alcohol so he could get a permit for a still. If you can drink it and run your truck on it, that is good stuff.
Was looking for a yellow transmitter but found out my work will now be closed until at least May 1st. If you can't sell it at that price let me know. Will see what I can do.
no gear for me, my work is shut down until at least May 1st. Feeling fortunate we will most likely start back up eventually. Sorry to hear some of you are worse off.
