Question What Suunto Zoop Novo Er Indicator Is This?

Just to round this out. I heard from Suunto: battery needs replacing every 2 years or 200 dives (whichever is first). Spoke to a customer support person at another company who services Suunto and he said anything under 3.0 is indicative for a battery change. 3.0v is fine. You can check the...

Question Will Mares replace a ripped xr wing?

This has happened to mine too. Mares will "repair" is the word from the store although I hope it's actually a replace. I wouldn't feel comfortable with a botch job! Just adding my voice to the list of people this has happened to.

Question What Suunto Zoop Novo Er Indicator Is This?

Confirm that the lockout has gone. It was only one dive in reality but according to the computer, the "first dive" was 16mins. Crash happens now. The "second dive" starts at 9m and goes for 41mins. In reality, one dive of 57mins. Attached dive log images in order. Also attached dive log from my...

Question What Suunto Zoop Novo Er Indicator Is This?

Thank you Mark. Yes, two separate dives. One 16mins long (that's the 16m to 9m portion) and the second 41mins long. I'm in touch with Anna @ Suunto (who FWIW were difficult to contact but when I did - via FB messenger - Anna was / is being very helpful). I'll keep this thread update as it has...

Question What Suunto Zoop Novo Er Indicator Is This?

Troll. I did RTFM and it wasn't helpful hence I'm here in a supposedly friendly forum with "the experts". Anyway, dive profile was 16m at 9mins and up to 8m at 16mins so not violating any rates. Bettery voltage says 3.0 but the manual says nothing about what that value actually means.

Question What Suunto Zoop Novo Er Indicator Is This?

This thread might be related to this one? On a dive (max depth 17m) and halfway through the dive, audible alarm then computer shows Er then goes to a depth mode only with Er showing. This occurs at 8m. So my ascent was 17 to 8. No audible alarms before or after that. From memory it was a "flat"...

4ft underwater, dived deeper, momentarily lost consciousness

That's irrelevant and not a reason to continue diving without a medical check up. That's nice to hear, but doesn't mean they have medical training in hyperbaric medicine. I'm a car driver. It doesn't mean I could diagnose or fix my engine. I don't know how much clearer the responses from...

    Concern for Other Divers Safety

You misunderstood my post Jackie. I didn't mean dragging them out (preventing them diving). I meant dragging them out (unconscious or worse) if something happens. I'd never tell anyone how to dive, what gave me that right? But if the shoe was on the other foot and I was doing something stupid...

    Concern for Other Divers Safety

Was he this heavy? I'm nowhere near the most experience diver, but that said, if I see something stupid or irresponsible, especially if it's with someone I'm diving with (and by definition, someone I might be dependant on) then I will gently say something. Then I make a judgement call...

Dive Recommendations Wanted: 3 Weeks in KL

So the East Coast is out, but anything do-able during the weekends on the West coast? I'll be based in KL. I need to be back in KL for the Monday morning so that rules out flying anywhere...

Newbie Reg Question: Port Plugs in or Out?

Clearly you haven't thought of the newbie brain question... perhaps they shouldn't be there and if they are when the cylinder is pressurised, they turn into bullets... This ^^^^. Indeed I plan on doing exactly that. Thanks all, asked and answered. I think we can close this down now.

Strong response. Like it :) Care to explain why?

Newbie Reg Question: Port Plugs in or Out?

Just bought my first set of reg. I've connected all hoses to their appropriate places. I have 1 unused HP port and 2 LP ports. Do I keep the port plugs in those holes or remove them? Yes, I read the manual but it doesn't stipulate. I'm guessing I keep them in, otherwise the air will leak when...

Info The "Ultimate" wing lift calculator :)

If someone can send me the latest version of the spreadsheet, I'd be happy to try and translate that to a webpage. I'll open source the calculations too so that anyone can modify it in future.

    DIN Regs for Warm Water

Thanks all. I've got one eye on the future too so I'm not going to cheap out with the one thing giving me (or me if I primary donate) air :) I've seen a deal on a set: Halcyon H50D first stage with Aura second + octopus (matched pair) for $900AUD ($615USD). Seems like a good deal?

    DIN Regs for Warm Water

I'm looking for my first set of regs, as well as advice / opinions (feel free to be biased) :) So, I have roughly 100 logged dives. I'm rescue level certified. I am comfortable in the water and easily reach the usual 1hr dive time limit with plenty of air left (80 bar). I am currently based in...

    Bolt Snap Orientation

Thanks Zef. 05:40 in that backplate video for anyone else explains it. Thanks all other posters, some excellent thoughts here. I don't dive with gloves / in cold climates / caves / wrecks etc. (yet) so that's most probably the root of my confusion - it's as easy for me (sans gloves) either way...
