thanks a lot, so no o-ring combination for the seal...
Ive got the 720R at the moment and im quite happy, but im going ice diving in switzerland so i thought maybe beef it up :D but its only a couple of degrees colder so i guess no biggie
Im here from DEEP SOUTH DIVERS YT channel... saw him diving the ultima without seals.. how does he seal the suit side where the rings are mounted? would like to dive a similar setup! Oh and is the system compatible with the showa 282 temres glove?
Best regards and stay healthy,
Simon
As i said, the seals serve no real purpose, in fact id say its worse to have seals when you glove leaks (in my setup). without seals i wouldnt need to lift my hand to equalize the gloves and so no water would run down my arm
Hi,
I've got the Antares system and I'm very happy with it. I dive with thick gloves under my cuff seals in winter so the seals dont serve a purpose anyway (redundancy) and are just restrictive... My idea was to remove the seals in winter and replace the with an oring. I dont want to cut them...
I wasnt asking for opinions but i got an answer from a vendor. The mechanism is 100% identical. If you have a bcd with 6kg pockets you could also use the 4kg pockets. since the mechanism is rated for up to 6kg use ill just add weight as needed and should be safe
The sls system comes in 2 versions. A long 6kg pouch and a shorter 4kg pouch mech looks the same though. I just need a kilo or maybe even just half a kilo per pouch more and it would fit just asking if the mech would hold up. Dont want to use a belt.
Hi,
Ive got a mares sls pure bcd and need a bit more weight to go drysuit diving. The pouches that come with it are rated to 4kg and are shorter than the 6kg version. I was wondering if the length is the only difference and the mech is the same since i have room for about 1kg more in each pouch...
Ive got a orange DSMB with a little loop at the top. for night dives i attach a flasher when sending it up works great. ive also got a yellow SMB. its rather small but i tell the boater that if i have that and im waving it theres something wrong. imo the emergency buoy doesnt have to be a dsmb...
thank a lot lexvil. I also heard the antares are quite good. Only complaints ive heard was that those plastic bits can break off but oh well just another thing on the drysuit you have to treat with care.
I already saw that video by ISE. Ive also been thinking about going gloves only, i guess...
@taimen thanks a lot. I guess ill be getting the ovals then. I think with them being stiff might be better than the slaggo. and although theyre soft slaggos are still round and round rings are always a bit bulky imo
What about the slaggo cuffs? Seaskin says theyre not compatible with drygloves but obviously they are since sitech offers systems. But are they any good? When thinking of the oval system in comparison i guess i stiff ring would make more sense. Do you have the slaggo?
I thought about the convenience zip but tbh with a front zip suit i guess ill not get it. Just another zip that can leak break etc. I just stay in the suit open the zip an pee in a bottle does the trick.
I dont dive a proper backplate just because i dont need it. I dive a "normal" backinflste...
Not really doubting :D i know that they tend to slip around.. maybe its not that bad with cuff rings but id like to be on the safe side an not have to sinch down my compass and computer like crazy :D
I was thinking of getting the regular pocket since when nothings in it it lies completely flat. That seems quite neat since ive also used dryuits for snorkeling/scouting i.e. in norway so less drag is nice when you dont nee anything. Im a bit careful with zippered pockets since the can always...
Stuart with you having the suit what do you think? Should i wait till ive slimmed down a bit or should i order it now?
I guess since all the "excess fabric" wil be around my midsection where its held down by the bc i wont have a problem with a suit thats a bit bigger. And ill always be able to...
